Find a way to sign this guy .... He would be a great add offering expereince , grit , leadership and a Ontario connection.

Even if Dubas wanted to sign Thornton and let's say it was for $700,000 I think it would be a repeat of how Patrick Marleau played in his final year in Toronto. No to Jumbo, but yes to Corey Perry. 6 years younger and more of a playoff animal.
How about both if they would sign for the minimum ?No to Jumbo, but yes to Corey Perry. 6 years younger and more of a playoff animal.

1 year deal .. Not sure how you can compare Joe to Marleau -- totally different players ..I'd happily take Perry at league minimum, but probably not for Thornton. After Marleau I don't really want that San Jose culture influencing Toronto any more than it already has. Not the end of the world if it happens, but I'm not a fan.

And a pylon for the other team to skate around easily.Find a way to sign this guy .... He would be a great add offering expereince , grit , leadership and a Ontario connection.
