What a joke. Pk needs someone who doesn't suck to play with him because he plays huge minutes for the team. There aren't many (if any) #1's out there who can shoulder a boat anchor like Franky B. Gorges is at least a legit top 4 dfd who cuts down on offensive chances against better than most.

Saying he's average is admitting your own ignorance on the matter.

When he was being paired with Bouillon or Murray you mean?
Because when he was paired with Markov they were absolutely owning their opposition.
Also, when Gorges and Murray were both out, Subban got some regular playing time on the PK and the opposition never scored.

What I will say about Gorges is that he steps up in the POs. However, I don't think Gorges should play with Subban. It should be Markov.

I don't see how anyone can suggest markov play even bigger minutes for this team after last season. It makes no sense.

Sometimes gorges makes me angry when he scores on his own net which was about 4 times in playoffs but he is a solid d and unless somehow we get a top4 to replace him I dont get why we would trade him.

Or when he actively deflected a puck into his own net.. not by mistake but with an actual wave of his stick.

Or how he played over 20 minutes every single game in the playoffs on the way to the Eastern Conference Finals, against mainly the other teams' top 6 forwards and playing big minutes on our first PK.

Sure he makes some bad plays but his positives outweigh his mistakes and he comes to play every single night.

Plekanec and Markov would be the two most likely to become captain if Gio and Gorges were both gone.

I don't see any good reason to trade Gorges un less somebody really overpays. He's a solid #3-4 with a good contract, strong leadership and work ethic are a bonus.
