It's a mistake to not tender Reilly. Would be surprised to see Bergevin make such a mistake. He's still an NHLer, if only a 7th or 8th dman. Only reason not to tender him is if you want to do him a favor and let him get another start with a new team - that won't even pony up a draft pick for him. It's better to keep him and try to send him to Laval, if no one offers something in a trade.

As long as he's qualified, he's our property. If he then doesn't sign and sits at home, he doesn't get paid.
Forgoing that income is not a smart move for a borderline NHLer. He really doesn't have much bargaining power.

I can's see an arbitrator giving Reilly an offer we don't accept. But it is true that it's possible.
Anyone.........there are tons of Benn's out there.........tons!! Decent season when he was used as a #6 guy, but time to move on.

Benn is a conundrum being a good bottom guy,but can get a good deal going UFA route. We know how MB approaches contracts,so.......Can't see him sticking around. On the upside if he leaves,it opens up a spot on LD,that everyone is crying about. The much maligned left side,which most seem to think needs addressing the most,but so many mention that JB is fine,for the bottom,Mete is fine in his role,Kulak is fine in his role,so where's the disgruntlement coming from that the priority is to improve the LD? if anything to improve the most is the PP, imao.

I disagree, I'm 100% sure he's gone and righfully so.
Benn will most definitely look for a 3 or 4 year deal at around 2.5-3M. MTL will look elsewhere.
