If Florida trades Huberdeau, they better sign Bob and Panarin. Awful idea otherwise
The Panthers burn for them?
Are either Panarin or Bobrovsky coquettish haberdashers by any chance?
To Columbus with a pick or two for Panarin and Bobrovsky might actually make a lot of sense.
Why would they trade him for futures if they're trying to get better?
Why? Florida wont land Panarin and Bob if they trade away good players like Huberdeau.
Cue the Huberdeau to Mtl rumours. That would be a score for Bergy.
Florida is a mess. Luckily Russians seem to like Miami.
Meh, not the type of player we need. We're set on the wings, we need a LD.
This would actually make sense if they trade Panarin in that situation... most of us dont want to do it.but losing him anyways and getting Hubs... makes it palatable.
Umm sure I’d love Huberdeau next to Pettersson. Do we have the pieces?
So has Panther management been talking to Panarin and Bob's agent...
Would Columbus even have that much leverage? Them landing Huberdeau for 2 players that have already admitted they are leaving seems like a reach.
What would be the ask from Florida for a guy like that? And, does he actually play any center or mostly wing?
3rd Overall + french speaking player...
thats 2 assets montreal drools over! lol
A legit 1st-line winger in his mid-20's on a bargain AAV? If Columbus can find a way to get him back in a Panarin trade somehow they're absolutely brilliant.
*Drouin fist pump*
Huberdeau is a very good player on a very good contract. Don't know why they would even think about trading him. Even if Panarin and Bob are coming in the summer, having Huberdeau and Panarin as the star wingers to complement Barkov and Trocheck as the star centres makes for a very potent offensive core. Maybe if they get a really good cost controlled defenseman coming back?
If Panarin was willing to sign an extension then Huberdeau for Panarin & Bobrovsky could make some sense. The fact Panarin changed his agent now could point to him being willing to work out a deal if there is a team he would like to be on.
I still don't understand why Florida would consider this. Go after players in UFA, find other ways to drop salary rather than moving guys like Huberdeau. But then, they've shown they are willing to do really stupid stuff in the past.
Seems like a pretty terrible idea for the panthers
Agreed. If you're going to cut costs don't immediately jump to the trading Huberdeau route. It's like running out of gas and deciding to buy a new car.
Seems like whenever Florida starts getting some good things going for them they do something dumb and take a step right back. This feels like they are about to do it again. Hopefully for them it's not true.
Huberdeau is really the guy they pick to ship out? Good lord. He would get a haul of a package, but he is exactly the kind of player you KEEP if you are contending.
Get rid of Ekblad.
Wow. I think pretty much every team would be interested.
I want. wont happen. but still want it.
