Offers not arguments, people...
You're asking for something realistic. I provided a realistic value. Your very own OP is not realistic.
Johnson better than Drouin? That's a good one. Habs should stay patient and see what happens now that they have some more depth on offense.
Yes. They're both below average defensively, but Drouin is an absolute disaster in that regard. Drouin also happens to drag down his teammates offensively, despite his number of points. Basically, most players he plays significant time with score more when Drouin is not playing with them.

AVs might toss a 5th round pick, slightly higher if retention is involved.

Comparables:
  • Schmidt - 3rd (2022);
  • Toews - 2nd (2021 + 2022);
  • Johnson T - Waived (no interest);
  • Murray R - 5th (2021);
  • Murray M - 2nd (2020) + pick;
Few if any teams with limited cap space would take his $5.5M contact.

p.s. Value is so low, not offering Jost. :nod:

Apologies to Drouin fans, but imo this player has very low value. Honestly I wouldn’t want my team to offer to get him. Maybe another team might take Drouin, but I think he’s not returning much.

I would give Drouin this final season to prove his worth. He showed up in our playoffs so maybe that is a sign of things to come.

This thread makes no sense...

Drouin has found chemistry with Suzuki and will likely start the next season with him. Montreal doesn't need to trade his salary right now and it's a buyers market with talented players with term being traded for well under market value. Why would the team choose to trade him now...?
