Don't think he is skilled or good enough to to be the type of player that he is trying to be. He is not going to just wheel around like he did in Junior and consistently beat people one on one. Right now seems to end up just getting pushed to the corner or the end boards when he is trying to pack the puck. Also not sure he is much of a puck distributor b/c he seems to lack vision to create angles for passes.

Should be a good top 6 player if he can use to speed off the puck to find spaces and come from behind the play. Should be used as finisher and get on the end of plays rather than being someone expected to dominate the middle of the ice.

Still cannot figure out what MB was/is doing, and it's not hindsight. He traded for a young, French-Canadian winger and basically forced him into being the top center in the worlds harshest hockey market. The amount of pressure Bergevin put on the kid is extremely unfair and was very clearly a move that was about as low percentage as you can get. Drouin will be a 60 point winger one day but he'll be that despite MB setting him up for failure. Habs fans already know this but the emphasis on having Francophone stars is almost laughable at times. No other team puts more focus on where a player was born, or the GM/coach for that matter.

Drouin is who he is. A pretty good second line, 50p player who also is a locker room cancer.

Fine player to have on a team at the right price but if he's someone you're building around, some self-reflection might be in order.

He should be playing Wing.

He needs to play with line mates that have high hockey sense, and can complement his shortcomings.
This sums it up for ne. Great complimentary winger with skill, but will never drive his own line....and he's not a center.
