Still cannot figure out what MB was/is doing, and it's not hindsight. He traded for a young, French-Canadian winger and basically forced him into being the top center in the worlds harshest hockey market. The amount of pressure Bergevin put on the kid is extremely unfair and was very clearly a move that was about as low percentage as you can get. Drouin will be a 60 point winger one day but he'll be that despite MB setting him up for failure. Habs fans already know this but the emphasis on having Francophone stars is almost laughable at times. No other team puts more focus on where a player was born, or the GM/coach for that matter.
