King? Finland dosnt have a royal family FYI

In an alternative reality which diverged from the acutal one on the 14th of December in 1918 when the Prince of Hesse, Frederick Charles, in the whim of the moment, following a gust of emotional disgust and outburst of acidic stomach fluids on a silk garment during his royal breakfast came to realize he was not, after all and for real, apt for being a King, let alone the King of Finland and thus renounced the throne made of fine Finnish elm - or lime (historians tend to disagree on this minor detail) - except the coat of arms situated above the back rest representing the famous crowned lion holding a long sword in his hand and stomping a sabre of Eastern origin in his feet the emblem being made of fine Finnish oak - what an unfortunate twist of events - well, in this alternative reality in which everything went fine well and dandy on that fateful chilly if not freezing December morning in 1918 (the low and unforgiving temperature might have had something to do with the King's bad appertite that morning combined with the failed heating system and problems in the tubes...) in a parallel universe still sailing on the Monarchy of Finland prevails as the state coat of arms (which in its turn originates already from the 16th century, Finland being under the regime and Great Power of Royal Sweden then) suggests for any keen eye. Hence, it is not at all out of question that Henry River Ridge should be called the future King of Finland, not then, not now since subtle are the Kings’ ways and wide and curious their appertite for women and food.

One of them was better there. It was the Joker. One of them is putting up over a ppg without PP time. Its the Joker. One of them is a future Norris winner. Its the Joker.
Joker is good but not as good as Heiskanen. Better example was that Joker didnt get to WHC team but Heiskanen did. WHC is complitely on different tier tournament compared to WJC.

I’m joking about this Joker vs Heiskanen debate...Miro looks awesome...if Joker turns into a very good two way defenseman it will go a long way for the Hawks...

He’s going to be a great draft pick. Can’t be overstated how much the Hawks need him with an aging Seabrook and Keith. Hawks have a couple beauties coming down the pipeline on D.

The Hawks D prospect pool is stacked. Boqvist, Joki, Beaudin, Mitchell and Hillman... should transition well for an aging NHL D core

Hillman probably isn't anything more than a bottom pairing guy, but the others have all done well for themselves recently.

Joki is playing better defense than anyone not named Keith. Also has 5 apples in 3 games.

Boqvist showed really well in preseason and wasn't far off from making the roster (even if for 9 games before getting sent back down).

Beaudin did well in training camp and had a good start to the season, but unfortunately is injured right now.

Mitchell was one of the best rookie defensemen in the NCAA last year. Only guy I can think of was better was Quinn Hughes (who is admittedly a year or so younger than Mitchell).

But our future on D looks bright. Offense is a different story.

Good to see our dear beloved neighbour country producing high end talents except goalies. Makes up for some nice rival meetings at the international stage in the future. Hyvää Suomi, and good for the Hawks rebuild!

Jokiharju = Karlsson
Heiskanen = Niedermayer

I know this is a little tongue in cheek, but I'd say Jokijarju plays a lot more like Niedemayer. He's not tremendously flashy, just a good skater who makes solid play after solid play.

That being said, he still has a long way to go. He's still prone to rookie mistakes. But he has looked extremely promising so far.

what about Krys?

Not super high on him. Some Hawks fans are, including our most knowledgeable prospects guy (AmericanDream), but he needs to have a full season of being a great player in the NCAA for me to become interested. Him playing good in the last half of his season last year isn't enough.

How good will Yogibooboo be?

If you mean Honey Boo Boo and Yogi the Bear's love child? Too early to say.

If you mean Jokiharju, he's playing like a legit top pairing guy now, but his upside might not be too much higher. Some in the prospects thread have compared him to Josi (but Joki being a righty and Josi a lefty), and that might not be a bad comparable to his future.

and just think, Joki is going to be accompanied in the next year or two by Boqvist, Mitchell and Beaudin

we are going to have a great D core
Don’t sleep on Chad Krys either. A lot of competition, might not be able keep all.

ya Krys and hillman IMO not to mention a few others, suffice it to say the hawks Dcore in coming years is going to be a strength.
