To be honest, I was a little excited to have him move on to the big show, covering the Leafs. He was one of the best in the game and I was glad to see him being poached from covering the Canucks. This all depended on an expectation to lose his homerism in order to appeal to a broader audience. He didn't do that and in stead of growing his game, he regressed. When CBC promoted him, along with Simpson and Healy with all the negativity towards it's largest fan base, created the perfect storm for the demise of HNIC.
