Blows my mind that Chicago is not making the playoffs after the last decade or so of dominance. Still did pretty darn good in the cap era. I would take 3 cups and then not making the plays any day of the week

Yeah, I know. Those were some disappointing charts to look at/follow.
I like that it shows day-by-day/days off for teams. A better true view of what's ahead for teams.

They’ve had putrid goaltending this season when Crawford has been out. We’d made playoffs last year with good goaltending. It’s stupid how important that part is.

Is there a stat that measures how well a goalie does against high quality chances? After all number of shots or how many goals allowed often are a measure of team D but is there one that measures tough saves? I wonder who leads that stat. Whether TB and Preds goalies look great because of team D versus actually making amazing saves.

It's like a 4-way race for the WC spots, with the 3rd spot in the Pacific being up in the air as well. That's pretty tight. Will the 2 Central teams make it in?

I believe Corsica tracks it. I have difficulty with that site on my phone and iPad. You’ll have to did it there yourself

A team with 96pts has only missed once. 97pts? Never. Doesn't mean it's not possible, but it's very, very unlikely. 100pts won't be required to lock down a playoff spot.

That's not what the term 'magic number' is usually understood to mean. The magic number is when the last theoretical, mathematical possibility of another outcome has been eliminated. It is not about probability. It is about certainty.

Setting franchise records for home wins, wins in a season, goalie wins in a season, and points in a season sounds awesome to me. We can focus on getting a playoff win after that.
