TSN changed their layout on their page. Looks like a ******* mobile site now :shakehead

Another reason for me not to visit their website.

People love to complain about the NHL, but one thing they've absolutely nailed is their website and mobile app. Really good and simple UI, my only complaint is that they don't show team injuries for some reason.

I think you can expect the NHL site to get a redesign shortly. And you'll probably hate it - it's a lot easier to do these things wrong than right.

As a technologically inept person, I think a problem that people have when they re-design their sites is that they try to completely revamp it instead of changing things one thing at the time. All of a sudden, I enter a site where I don't know where anything is anymore, of course I'm gonna feel like it's doing the wrong thing.

Maybe I'm just getting crusty, but it seems like website designs reached their peak about five years ago. Since then, it seems like every redesign is a step back. They try to reinvent the wheel, and it just makes the site clunkier and harder to navigate. Either that, or they strip it down to make it some hybrid mobile/desktop-friendly site that really pleases no one.

C'mon designers, just change some fonts and backgrounds and call it a day. :sarcasm:

Everyone's trying to design for mobile first now. That's where a lot of the traffic is coming from - tablets, phones. So the idea is to build it so it works well on small devices and it should be easier to scale up than starting big and going small.

Here's TSN.ca through the ages:
1997 http://web.archive.org/web/19970605010112/http://www.tsn.ca/
2000 http://web.archive.org/web/20001206133300/http://www.tsn.ca/
2002 http://web.archive.org/web/20021129011107/http://www.tsn.ca/
2005 http://web.archive.org/web/20050731080559/http://www.tsn.ca/
2008 http://web.archive.org/web/20081001002847/http://www.tsn.ca/

That 2008 redesign is pretty much what we had until today. A long run.

Some features obviously tailored for touch screen/mobile interface but the overall look is more modern, cleaner and more pleasing to the eye. More white-space and larger text are improvements. That said the navigation is harder and less intuitive. It requires more mouse clicks to get to the same places and related information is on separate pages instead of just scrolling further down.

To top it off it signed me out of my account and won't accept my password to get back in. The "did you forget your password" link doesn't work and trying to create a new account doesn't work either as it says my e-mail address is already assigned to a member (Yes, I know that. It is me!).

All-in-all much less user-friendly. I'll be using it a lot less in future.

Ain't that the truth!

I did a little programming and website design (waayyy back in the stone age before mobile and touch interfaces existed). It is easy to get carried away by appearance and ******* *p useability. HFBoards is a pretty good illustration of the opposite. It looks like some of the first web sites I ever saw but functionally it is very good. I hope they don't decide to 'fix it'. The odds of getting it right are pretty poor.

Meh it's not like I ever really went to the TSN page in the first place.

I'm either on here, NHL.com, or ESPN reading Pronman articles.

So, I got matched with a cute girl on Tinder. But she didn't get back to me when I wrote to her. So I drove over to her house to ask why she didn't love me anymore.

She seemed very upset when I asked her. Do you guys think something is wrong?

Yup, same here. can't log in, when I go to the reset password page it doesn't work, and it won't let me set up a new account. I tried to install TSNGO on my mobile device, and I can't unless I log in.

Way to alienate members, TSN.

Well, it's not like there isn't a million other sports sites to visit.

Should I buy a new car before I go to her place again? What kind of car should I buy?

Does anyone have a car I could buy, that she would like?
