A lot of teams would prob have interest in Toby, so we might get a decent player back,.

But what our left side would look like without him is absolutely terrifying.

The Dredger said Enstrom is available and we're looking for a top6 forward.

Meltdown in 3...2...1...

Lee Stempniak and Frolik could have been those top 6 forwards and we wouldn't have to give up anything #JustSaying . Now he might waste an asset when we could easily have signed a couple in the offseason for free.

Trading Enstrom makes ZERO sense. Is Stu gonna be your #1 LD? Chiarot? Pardy? God help this team

Actually no, it does make sense if we are giving up on this season. Enstrom is older so if we can get something good for him it won't be bad but it would mean we are giving up this season and possibly blowing up the team for atleast 3 years which I don't think Chevy is trying to do based on his desire for another top-6 forward

I assume you mean Dreger .... phffft!

How do you trade a player with a NMC?

This would assume that Toby wants out then.

Not necessarily wants out but is willing to move if asked. Not quite the same. But, see comment above.

But what our left side would look like without him is absolutely terrifying.

This only happens if there are more trades which bring back a couple of LHD.

No, it really doesn't look terrifying at all. Re-sign Buff and move one of the righties over, problem solved. Morrissey eventually fills an LD spot anyway at some point.

Lee Stempniak is now a "top-6 forward"???? Not on a decent team. Frolik is a decent 2nd or 3rd liner, but not really a world-beater.

Moving Enstrom probably guarantees that the Jets re-sign Buff. I wonder if the top-6 forward is to replace Ladd.

Maybe the hold-up with Ladd and Buff is that Chevy is working on something a bit more interesting, with some pieces in play. Enstrom for a younger top-6 forward. Ladd for a good young LD prospect.

That hardly solves the problem. With Enstrom we are light 1 top 4 LHD. Move Enstrom and move a righty over we are still short one. Move Enstrom for a top 6 F? Who is this forward going to replace, Ehlers?

Now if Ladd were moved for a top 4 LHD moving Enstrom for a top 6 LW might make sense. Can't see that happening though.

There is not one player on the Jets that should be off limits in a trade as long as the trade helps this improve, either now or down the road. The Jets are long way away from being a contender as the team sits so if you can move older expensive players do it now or a the deadline.

If Chevy can pull it off, it makes a lot of sense, especially if he moves Enstrom and Ladd for cheaper and younger players.

If the Jets could move Ladd for a good young LD+, and Enstrom for a good young forward prospect or young roster player, that would give the Jets a lot of flexibility and fit with their youth strategy. It would allow them to sign Buff (a better idea than signing Ladd long-term, in my opinion).

Still, it seems highly unlikely. Those types of trades are pretty hard to make.

Agreed but don't forget Chevy traded a certain player that did not want to be here and injured to the benefit of the Jets last year, getting then into the playoffs. Might need the same type of trade this year.

And this is probably the correct sentiment...it just doesn't make sense to move Enstrom out of everyone on the team.

Even if the plan is to try and flip Ladd for an upgrade at that position...what are the chances that we get a better player for him?

What left hand DMan could we get for Ladd that's better Enstrom and maybe a better question what left winger could we get in return for Toby that is a clear upgrade on Ladd? IMO it doesn't make sense to trade either if it's not for an upgrade.

Maybe they are being moved together? Ladd and Enstrom to team X for a super star at said position...

Or maybe for a quick rebuild.

They are...but it would be awesome.

Agreed unless Chevy plans on soft tanking this year by placing Morrissey or someone in Toby's spot.

It still does. Our current core of RHD have so far not proven that they can successfully switch sides and Morrissey is at least 2-3yrs away.

Sure seems like the kind of guy Maurice could have slotted up to the 2nd line during a period like this.

When did Pardy play two D positions?

He was all over the ice....

Actually, I think I subconsciously blocked out any memory of Harrison-Stuart or Harrison-Pardy. I still have cold sweats about that... :help:

It would be an upgrade if we got similar players but younger and cheaper. The only way that happens though is if they are traded for prospects who MIGHT develop to that level, futures. If that is what happens there is no sense keeping Buff either. Go all in on youth.
