Jets have a plethora of young players who are similar or better than Carr/Andrighetto; they'd be hard pressed to see ice time -- especially when the Jets injured players get back (Matthias, Armia).

DD is a liability, not an asset. His 3.5M Cap hit is absurd for what he can provide. Given the philosophy of Jets ownership (not spending money unless it's needed to re-sign players, etc), I find it highly improbable that they'll take on that contract.

Lowry is a serviceable, young, big body - who the Jets have been developing. Hopefully he can turn into a real solid 3C. No reason to trade him for a 2nd.

Desharnais has outproduced Perreault every season other then last. Im not saying he is worth more then a cap dump. and his contract ends in 5 months. His value has nothing to do with what fans think of him.

regardless however, a 2nd for Lowry, who the Jets risk losing at the Exp draft is more then fair value.

As for burmi, if you dont liek Carr thats fine too.. you could have a 3rd or some other b prospect as well.

DD is for Cap issues

Jets are going to lose someone in the expansion draft regardless. If you trade away Lowry, then the Jets are losing two players - Lowry, and the guy the Golden Knights do take.

That's true but you are getting something back for Lowry vs losing him for nothing.

We are getting crap back for Lowry and still losing another equally valuable player for nothing.

So instead of losing one player for nothing we should lose two players for almost nothing? Hmmmh I wonder why Habs fans want us to do that

2nd rounder is considered nothing?

for a player you may lose..

if you added a player in a trade fine, but what would be your protection list without burmi and lowry

The decision then becomes (assuming LV has Lowry at 1 and Dano at 2 on their list of WINN players):

2nd for Lowry & Dano

or

Nothing for Lowry

Moving Lowry for a lottery protected asset less than fair value just means that the Jets lose 2 deals. (Think of every team losing 1 deal with LV when they lose a player to expansion for no return. It's just silly to make another deal you lose, when their isn't a significant difference in value of the player that is get selected by LV).

While a 2nd round isn't "nothing", it probably has a 30-40% of every having an NHL career. Under normal circumstances, Lowry's value is significantly greater than a 2nd round DP.

The point is that if the Jets make that trade, then they end up losing Armia or Dano to LV, and either one of their value's is probably close to Lowry's.

HFBoards always overrates draft picks. Compound that with the following: Montreal's 2nd rounder means it's a pick in the 50's if they continue to play the way they have.

Is burmistrov available for Montreall Canadiens? They're down a couple of centres. Canadiens took a risk with Radulov. Maybe they can take a risk with burmistrov. What can the jets get in return?

This guy gets it. I'm shocked so few people here understand the impact of expansion.....including long time posters. People either don't understand or don't think or both.

Radulov who scored well over ppg in the KHL was a risk???

Burmistrov straight up sucks.

would like to see the Avs go after him if he is available for cheap. Holland too. That team needs all the tweener skill it can get in the bottom of the lineup.

You won't be getting any offense from Burmistrov. He's to busy practicing his own version of the double lutz

Canadiens signing him to a one year contract doesn't really express a whole lot of confidence. ;) But I'm a fan and is cheering for him. My point is maybe Burmistrov can change it around in Montreal. I would love to see that happen. What does the Canadiens have to lose, late round draft pick?

You can have him for literally whatever you offer as long as it's not anyone making more than him
