They played their ass off for 6-8 minutes 1 goal lead then changed their approach. (BULLSHIT COACH) They need someone to light a fire under their asses. Hynes gets mad and pissed off at the Refs (Last night they deserved it) but as far as dealing with the players not so much. We lost the game because of lack of effort. slow to the puck, and WAY TOO MUCH PASSING.
f*** cute passes get it to the net.

Nico is fine, he's just too nervous about taking the shot. It was just doubly frustrating last night in OT because you could have written a book about how he was going to pass in the time it took for him to actually make the pass on both of those rushes.

I thought the Devils played one of their better games in the past two weeks. It's a shame they only got 1 point. They we're sloppy at times and it cost them. As we all know and knew the defense is going to cost us every single game. That's on Ray and above. They didn't get it done. It was a must, we all knew that last season. Last night was more enjoyable to watch, if not getting 2 points is enjoyable.

Nico is the problem? It wasn't the decision to pass but the fact that the play had zero, negative deception.

Yes. Nico should almost always pass on a 2 on 0, but he A: took a bad angle with the puck and B: telegraphed the pass. Hall should have most of the net to shoot at when he passes it. He's still 19.

I don't think he's great, but the fact of the matter is he's playing beyond his capabilities right now. His capabilities being someone that I don't think you'd want to play 60-70 games for you. And if you don't think he is, then I don't see why does deserve a lot of praise. I think he deserves more praise because of his situation and having to play all these games because Schneider threw a rod long ago.

Outside of that? He's been fine. Not spectacular, but fine.

As I've said, I'm ready to see either a whole new tandem next year or Kinkaid splitting with some kind of decent insurance policy.

Why do some fans think it was Cory's turn last night. Don't they understand what is happening? Didn't they watch the past two years? Do they want the Devils to lose? Do they want the Devils to lose all confidence? Isn't it about winning?

hall also should have gone wider then just straight down the middle, but yeah the play was terrible on all sides for a 2 on 0 from the red line.

the second one was worse though, nico had an angle to attack the net and a clear shot and he tried to make a pass through 2 defenders. i want him to have that killer instinct like he can end the game himself on that but i have faith that it’ll come

I personally do think it’s Cory’s turn now, but only because I’m giving up on the season. I still want Cory bought out after this year, barring about a .915% save percentage finish to his season. And even then, I’d still buy him out if we get the amnesty/new CBA after next year.

I still can’t get over all the old guys out on the ice at the same time. It was almost like Hynes called for every guy over 30 to vacate the bench at once.

I’m surprised he didn’t send Cory over the boards and we end up getting a too many men penalty. I think he was the only 30-something not present for that shift.

If they cant play hard more then 6-8 minutes to have a chance at a game then they are in trouble for the rest of the season. Kink did a nice job and a couple of stupid things at the same time. You can tell we will get scored on they dilly dally in front of the f***ing net while Kink gets shelled. The word is out we are soft on passing and we pass way to much. Turned over and stolen pucks were redic last night.

While some of the disdain for Greene isn't warranted given how shallow the defense situation is and he is put in a number of situations that he shouldn't be in as often as a result, he has surely had some of his bad moments and last night he had his share. Which leads to questioning why both he and Lovejoy were out at the end of the 3rd after we had just tied it. Greene can be understood when looking at both sides of the coin, but both he and Lovejoy?

Not seeing Coleman out on 3v3 again was also something worthy of questioning.

Isn't you post contradictory? Because it's back to back so put in Cory to lose? KK was the right call so you said? It turned out to be the right call!

Your giving up on the Devils because the season isn't over. We are not making the playoffs. We have discussed why and it isn't exclusively because of Cory. This team lacks the skills to make the playoffs. It has the wrong mixture of players. It has a terrible defensive group of players. The team has a so so overpaid goalie that hasn't won a game this season.

Just a friendly reminder to the board...and me...life goes on. Tomorrow is Monday and we all have friends and family to take care of. The Devils might stink...have stunk, will continue to stank...stunked for a couple months... but good young players an awesome arena and a great fanbase. LGD

At the angle he was at, he should've shot for a rebound.

I agree with this. the 2 on 0 was played terribly by both players. But that second chance nico had was just bad.
