Maybe you should consider writing your posts on all caps to make them even more agressive?

If you would have bothered to read what I wrote, you would have (maybe) understood that I did not suggest that Pulju was instructed to play certain way. It may very well be a role he has created by himself.

So that suggests his hockey IQ is extremely low? And no, you never suggested it was his own decision. You called it development, which suggests coaching instruction

Probably best for Bouchard's development to not be on pp2. That means Bouchard has chosen to be on PP 2

Jesse finding his place as a specialist of digging pucks for McDavid may not have been ideal for his development. He should start on 3rd line next game.
Kane-McDavid-Yamamoto
RNH-Draisaitl-Hyman
Foegele-McLeod-Kassian
Ryan-Shore-Puljujarvi

I think that playing Ryan and RNH together means that we have too small of a line to match up against the Kings forward group. Let Jesse play against lesser competition and hopefully get a point or two and start gaining some confidence.

Wow. This post is full of inaccuracies. Do watch the Oilers?

Kane spent half his time on that line carrying pucks in and flying down the wing, carrying it low.

JP absolutely NEVER skates more than 5ft with pucks by rule

What on earth are you posting? Nothing in this post is remotely accurate
He doesn’t skate with the puck cause like my post said, he defers to McD. And McD doesn’t trust to past to him often. Kane spends half his time carrying it low? Yeh lately when McD started to use him more, which Kane specifically mentioned in his presser that McD is learning more about his game as well.

Followed him his whole career. he's NEVER been a puck carrier, so where you get that from who knows? Even his AHL coach blasted him puck protection. He was bypassed by Finland a few times also

From day 1 he did that horrendous attempt at a "slap pass" on an open net, and 2 terms that LITERALLY followed him were "hot potato" and "hand grenade". So when in what universe was he recognized for being a puck carrier?

Todd M even came out and gave him a vote of confidence suggesting he wants to see JP carry pucks more be a line driver. But "fans" dismissed that and blamed coaches for development, the weather, every Edmonton crime and whatever they could cling to

I also recall Todd giving Drai the EXACT same vote of confidence, and Drai ran with it many a nites out performing McD

So no, to the original point, when in the actual f*** was JP known for being a puck carrier? I surely can't recall that?

BTW, Kane has been carrying pucks up the wing since day 1 in an Oiler uniform, took him awhile to get in game shape, but has since. Most those carries generate from the D, not McD

His world junior and most recent stint in the Euros had him carry that puck and be a driver for his team. It’s that which we hope will translate to the NHL some day.

Interesting that now narrative seems that Jesse should not play with McDavid, earlier he was the winger for him and even all advanced stats were praising him.

So is he a top. 6 winger or third liner?
Nobody actually shifted narratives. Most ppl here still believe in Jesse and acknowledge he had a dog shit game 1 like many other players on the team, and bobbythebrain has never not believed Puljujarvi is AHL fodder.

He is currently playing like a 3rd liner. He's young enough that he could bounce back to having top 6 production but he is in a big time offensive funk right now.

I doubt he ever becomes a legit 1st liner, but people keep acting like a big, fast, defensively responsible, middle 6 winger is a bust. He’s a good piece to have. Sure we would prefer Sergachev like Chia was planning for, but we should be looking at it as would you prefer the 2nd round pick Holland got offered, or Pulju? I’m taking Pulju

Good third liner us actually darn important to gave if you want to win.
Not a bust but bit dissapointment yes, hopes were quite high. (though I was all ways bit more realisti about Jesse and got some hate from that.)
Though still time...

A few of you did get some hate or whatever it was, but not for the reason you said. I think all in all people could've been a lot nastier considering how some of you wrote about Pulju and even his fans.

The trade allegedly on the table was Arizona's 7th and 20th, which would've landed us Sergachev and possibly Chychrun on the trade up or even just stay put and pick up a Tage Thompson. It could also potentially stop the cascade that culminated in the ill fated trade is one for one. We'd be in a better spot for sure but in any case Chia is a moron and what's done is done, no Sergachev for us. Best we can hope is that Pool lives up to part of his potential and becomes our Lehtinen.

I still believe there's an offensive player in Pulju as we've seen some really good stretches of games. However, I think there's some very strange mental issues and while I think McLellan played a part in causing issues that still cause problems in more difficult times it ultimately comes down to the player.

Coincidence or not but the downhill started when McDavid yelled at him and when he was dropped out from the PP (for a short while) soon after it. I believe him not getting much PP time even when the top players weren't playing was another blow to his confidence. A shame, but I do believe he'll be better in the next game.

Yamamoto had 41 points on regular season, Pulju had 36. Yamamoto was amazing in the first playoff game, Pulju was terrible. Little bit early to jump into conclusions which one is going to have a better career, don't you think?

Without a doubt Yamamoto. He plays with some confidence at least and pucks don’t knock him over
Pulju is a puck carrier, always has been and he loves to make plays and work with his linemates. I think on McDs line he’s pigeonholed into deferring too much to the generational one. As silly as it sounds, that top line needs to play more like equals, they need to work together as a unit of 3. All the best lines in the League play like this despite not all players being equal in skill. This will help McD too, like when he finally started trusting Kane more and passing to him instead of going 1 on 3 which lead to the Art Ross being secured. Yes, McD is better than both by a mile and can do things singlehandedly to the point where maybe it’s best McD has the puck, but no way that shit will work in the playoffs with any consistency and no way they hit their peak.

Pulju is a puck carrier? That’s the last thing I’d say to describe him. The only time I’ve seen him carry the puck the last month Q.Hughes stopped him in his tracks

Carry the puck where? Into the opposing defencemens' cradle and lose the puck, like he always does? It's also our hope that he will be a 30+ goal scorer, and 80+ point player. We can sit here and hope for the rest of his career. Doesn't mean it's going to happen.

At his best and at his hopeful peak that’s what he is. Obviously not on the Oilers, as the rest of my post points our he defers too much. Why he was drafted so high, was his puck carrier, hockey sense etc etc
