NHL.com talked about who should win the Jack Adams award.

Woodcroft received zero votes.

Yikes.
It's the "Gretzky circle". McDavid is only good because of Draisaitl and Nuge, Nuge is only good because of McDrai, Draisaitl is only good because McDavid and the PP, the PP is only good because of the players, and the coaches look good because of McDrai.

It's the dumbshit opinion that treats the coaches of this team as disposable, because clearly they're just as good with Woodcroft as they were with Tippett, right?

It was amusing to see Ruff get so many votes considering that fans wanted him fired before the season even started.

Did Sutter win it last year or get nominated anyway?
He did. The Jack Adams award is quickly becoming the "Best PDO" award. Hartley won it in 2015 and we all remembered how that season ended.

Just taking a peek at the winners of the award... Torts in '04, Arbour in '79, Bowman in '77... Those are the last three winners of the award that also won the Cup.

Or the "played better than expected" award

Honestly I hope Montgomery wins it in Boston. It's a bit of a flash in the pan there, which is the norm, but he's also not one of the annoying loud mouth coaches.

My ultimate would be for the award to change to go to proven winners more. Giving it to Cooper always makes sense to me, or Brindamour.

Woodcroft is a good choice too. He's had a flawed roster but has had a winning record going back to last season. Also he was innovative in making the 11-7 lineup a thing, which other coaches are copying now. It was a great way to compensate for the poor defense he was given, and his execution of it also make the 4th line a great tool to make adjustments to the opponents
