Sarnia Sting head coach Jacques Beaulieu is charged with two counts of assault in a weekend dust-up at a Strathroy-area home, The Free Press has learned.

And police are investigating his 20-year-old son Nathan Beaulieu — a top NHL prospect who’s joined the Montreal Canadiens’ looming playoff run — in the same incident just outside the hockey player’s hometown, Windsor lawyer Patrick Ducharme said Monday.

Top Montreal Canadiens prospect Nathan Beaulieu is now facing two assault charges in connection with a dustup at a house party in Strathroy last weekend, police said.

Strathroy Caradoc Police have confirmed the 20-year-old hockey superstar is facing the same set of charges as his dad Jacques Beaulieu -- head coach of the Sarnia Sting -- in connection with the same incident.

"There's two victims and (Jacques and Nathan Beaulieu) are each charged with one count of assault against each victim," said Deputy Chief Mark Campbell.

Assault is not battery. It means he said something threatening, he didn't hit anyone. And he was only charged, not convicted.
