Exactly, acquiring eichel is just too damn risky. If im an nhl gm I’d let eichel rot in Buffalo, let Buffalo deal with him, he’s just not worth the damn trouble.

I see it a bit different. You are right it is too risky to pay the huge ask that The Sabres are asking. However if they make it 1 A+ piece and multiple conditional pieces then its worth taking the shot if you are a team with many great/good prospects and picks upcoming....

Even with the injury Eichel is worh more just based on potential, the chance Tkachuk becomes the better player is lot smaller than Eichel coming back 100%. and even if he doesn’t but performs around 80% of his maximum ability he still is the better player.

People really fail to realize that he was a shadow of himself last season and still had 18 points in 21 games with all the injuries he had and while playing for Krueger’s Sabres. It’s still pretty certain he will come back better than he was while injured, if not his old self.

Doesnt matter both players will never be happy in this trade, and wouldnt play for the respected teams involved so its a moot point
