Did anyone notice that the training camp roster lists Di Pauli as Center and Dea as RW ? Wasn't Dea a center and Di Pauli a wing before this? Wasn't Di Pauli playing wing at the prospect tournament? Can someone explain this? I like it. Di Pauli might have a better chance of coming up as a center

Recent Finnish defensive prospect whose name begins with a P not invited, Troy Josephs not invited, Bourbonnais not invited... pretty much everyone else in the organisation is there, save for all the College/Euro prospects i.e. virtually all of our prospects.

Nolan Volcan didn't get an invite either. Shame, its a great name.

Hornqvist is hurt. Has a cast on his hand.

Cool to see a top young guy get some early time with the big guns.

Horns scored the Cup-winning goal with a similar injury. Maybe he has decided to just stick with it.

Yep, Hornqvist's hand has been ****ed up for several months.

I remember a post on reddit (grain of salt, etc) where some dude met several Penguins at the University of Ottawa practicing during the Sens series. Said lots of guys looked banged up, but Hornqvist's hand was very obviously ****ed up and wrapped in a splint.

Hope this isn't an Orpik classic. "**** surgery, let it heal on it's own--oops, reaggrivated it all season long."

And to clarify, apparently Hornqvist already had the surgery. Expected to rejoin the team in full capacity somewhere toward the end of camp.

If Horns is just recovering from surgery that's prob best case scenario rather than him trying to just give it time and it not fully recovering all year/requiring surgery later. A little extra time with an "extended offseason" isn't the worst thing anyway.

The Jake news is also not really surprising to most people here, but still good to hear. I don't doubt that Jake could handle 3C, but he showed way too much with Sid to separate them at this point. They could be the best C/W duo in the league for years if "unsustainable" continues to be sustainable.

I'm guessing Sheahan is one of those guys available, it makes sense that he wouldn't be available before the Athanasiou re-signs in Detroit. I just wonder who else the Penguins are looking at.

Anyone can score meaningless breakaway goals in training camp. His unsustainability will really come out when we get to the big moments in big games though.

First year I've ever really looked forward to training camp. The season is so long I usually don't get too invested in camp and pre-season. Looking forward to seeing what some of these young guys have.
