I don't think it's as easy as saying a player will play better on a good team and worse on a bad team. There are players that have actually shown the opposite. They get big minutes and start producing like mad (AMac, PaP, Moulson, Blake, Parrish, Bates etc)

I think Regin is just a bad player, and PMB is done in the NHL unless he stops playing so tentative.

? We were over the cap floor by a few mill. There's room for all sorts of crap.

You made me laugh here.

Vanek & AMess.

Did you see what I did there?

And here as well. :handclap::handclap::handclap:

When AMess leaves, we'll be left with just an ANess.

Blackhawk fans are slotting Regin is as their #2 center

He'll produce in Chicago more than here, he doesn't have to do as much...and they have a real coach and strategeriez.

Come on man, that's not what I said. I hope I don't come off as a consistently negative poster because I've been very positive and supportive on this board. I personally really respect your posts as being objective and knowledgable. But I said to build a list of players to see the trend. Not that, any player would always be better on a better team. I'll bet all my money that Regin is more useful to Chicago than he was to us -- because his use to them is appropriate. We will see the same with AMac.

THAT'S why the moves are bad. Because we are bad. If we pick up Jussi Jokinen at the deadline last year, he's worse than Reasoner on our team. Now he plays with Malkin and Neal. Streit got blasted on our board all year long last year for being defensively liable. The Philly board doesn't seem to have a problem (I still think the contract is bad, but I'm talking about his play). Because they have defenesemen to play defense instead of him. Everybody is miscast here.

Gives Chicago some depth for their playoff run and frees up roster space and contract space for the Isladrs. But this trade sas everything about the horrendous offseason Snow had

PMB is heading to Rockford, Regin to Chicago.

He should be on the Rockford Peaches.

This is like when Boston took mottau and Rolston. No that was way worse..
Can't say I will be rooting for Chicago because I follow the players but good luck to them.

Yes, this does show how bad Snow's offseason was.

But, it was good to dump these two. According to CapGeek, we had 45 players under contract including those two. We need to sign Pelech and Pokka and probably Graham and Leduc by June 1 (before the Regin/Bouchard contracts expire).

That puts us at 49 spots filled out of 50. That is pretty much no flexibility.

Now have room to add players/prospects between now and the end of the season. Without dumping a couple of bums we had no flexibility to get multiple assets back for Vanek, sign college free agents, pickup anyone on waivers, etc.

Daydreaming about the day when we're able to "overpay" a late-4th-round pick for a couple of depth veterans in preparation for a deep playoff run...

Are we really going to sign Leduc?

Wonder if they will sign Russo now that he is no longer playing at Notre Dame?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they were each worth an 8th.

Surprised we got anything at all for 2 guys who probably don't belong in professional hockey.

:dunce::confused: oh joy, a low 4th round draft pick. w/e its good to get these bums off the roster, and now maybe #16 can go to someone who isnt a complete hack....a number that once reminded me of lafontaine, and palffy, now only reminds me of guys like sim, reasonor, regin.....the three of em might as well be the same person. :help:
