1-2 year extension maybe, but a goalie going on a hot streak for a few months doesn't warrant any longer than that...Greiss is proof of this.

I think that would be a gamble. Similar move Snow made by re-signing Greiss. And if Lehner believes in himself he may be better off waiting until the Summer.

There is a different meaning behind an emergency call up and an IR move, right? If Gibson is an emergency call up, it probably means that Lehner may not be out the full 7 days. If Lehner is IR'd, we at least know he's out until mid next week.

Earlier in the season, being IR'd meant missing one game. Now its about 4.

Emergency call up = good news. Probably just need him to get us through the weekend and Lehner should be back by Monday. If Monday isn’t an option right now, they would have IR’d him.

Day to day means they will re-evaluate his condition every day.

It’s generally a good thing. It means you expect that it can meaningfully improve within a 24-hour period.

The alternative is week-to-week or longer.

That's good to hear. Its not like LL is a treasure trove of info, but Trotz seems to give out more info than the previous regime did. He told us it wouldn't be long and lo and behold, its not.
