Sid could be the first player to win back to back conn smythes since Mario in 91/92

If he did, that would be pathetic back to back compared to Lemieux, especially with the Conn Smythe he was gifted last year that should have gone to Letang or Murray. Being gifted a Conn Smythe when he´s not even the top scorer. Just a political award. Probably he will be gifted Malkin´s Smythe this year.

Letang? Murray? What the hell? Sid earned it for sure and the only real argument against would have been Kessel.

Just a political award when most people who have watched the series acknowledge he has been the best player on the Pens (with Fleury).

The Conn Smythe could have gone to a number of other players last year, but he wasn't undeserving. Trying to make this a conspiracy theory says more about you than Crosby.

Whoever made this thread better be hiding now.

He's been their best player, if they win and he has a decent finals the Smythe is likely his.

The Conn Smythe was Fleury's until Fleury got sat on the bench for the Penguins actual starter. Now, with Kessel playing poorly in the playoffs overall IMO, it's between Sid and Geno. Honestly, I think Sid has been a better than Malkin in the playoffs. Not by much, but a little bit. Both are about even at ES (3 goals and 12 points at ES for Crosby, 6 goals and 12 points at ES for Malkin) and Crosby has a few more primary points (7 goals and 8 primary assists for Crosby, 6 goals and 6 primary assists for Malkin). Malkin has 9 secondary assists in the playoffs as opposed to 3 for Crosby.

And even then, Kessel/HBK wasn't facing the top matchups Crosby was. The tears of the Crosby haters are most delicious. It never gets old drinking them. I gorge on them.

It's like he's literally dropping a very heavy ball on the Ottawa Senators over and over until they are dead. He only played like 12 minutes if you didn't noticed. Probably would have dropped 4 points if he wasn't resting up to drop it again next game. He's getting older, give him a break.

people are selling Malkin's secondary assists a little bit short here. the two PP secondary assists he had today were amazing. first the way he kept the puck in the zone for the Crosby goal and then the saucer pass to Crosby for Kessel's goal.

Being the top scorer shouldn't matter though. Crosby is top 3 in scoring basically (haven't checked but I know he's up there) and he's been playing really good defense. Everyone seems to forget about defense. Conn Smythe should be to the best overall player. Points is only part of it. You gotta be solid all around.

People have been doing that to Crosby his whole career as well. Sometimes secondary assists are just as important if not more than the primary. Usually those are the guys that create the entire play.

To me it's a sign that thous guys are the Alpha dogs dominating the puck. You don't rack up secondary assists like they do without controlling the puck in the offensive zone all the time.

believe me I know.

also these playoffs are kind of their respective careers in the mirror. Malkin was putting up points more constantly while Crosby has been putting them up in bursts. obviouly he was visibly shaken by that Niskanen hit.
