Gutsy road win against a good team. Big two points. From what I was able to watch Sheahan had a beast of a game.

Only watched the 3rd but I'll take 2pts;) Big play by DK to swat that puck away in the closing minute.

Solid victory. 3 goals remains the magic number. Sheahan and secondary scoring show up and that's a good sign.

Love the title lol, yeah great game by Smith! Very important win to able to tie with Montreal for the Division lead, and a very good way to start the roadtrip..

I do wonder though.. Why does it seem impossible to get Empty netters this season? How many empty net goals do they have in total this season?

Good win. Tough road ahead. This team needs Miller and E back. Obviously Larkin too though he seems to be slowing down.

Tied for first place good times.

Everybody is so closely lumped together, hard to get too excited about anything like that. Tampa and New Jersey are only a couple games back, despite currently sitting outside of the playoffs. Only Washington has any positive separation from the pack.

Because they usually give up the lead prior to getting an empty net?

Wings jumped 3 teams with the win... Florida, Boston, and Montreal. That doesn't happen often.

Think it's a combination of tired players wanting to go off for a change so they dump it out instead of trying to score. If the team is having issues in the faceoff circle all night they likely don't want to ice it.

They are tied for 1st basically until somebody plays. They could be out of a wildcard spot in 1 or 2 games. Tough road coming. They need to be very good.

Tampa looks to be heating back up and playing as they should be. Would like to not face them in the 1st round. Montreal has fallen back to earth and they look to be in for a struggle if Price can't get healthy. I like that we are far above the metro however. Think it is a good chance again if the Atlantic places 5 teams in the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 years.

That's true for everybody, though. Outside of a few teams like Toronto, who can already start planning for the off-season.

And this is by design. The NHL has wanted close playoff races and done everything possible to facilitate that from the salary cap to the loser point. A singular team has any comfort in the East and that's the hallmark of the modern NHL regular season.
