Kesler has to be at the top as of right now, December 24th
With Toews, Bergeron and Kopitar having off years, I think he gets a nomination, but it's Kesler right now. My top 3 right now are Kesler, Koivu, Barkov.
Bergeron should win it every season
He's among the top, but Bergeron is leading the pack. It's insane how good his shots suppression numbers are, especially relative to the rest of the Bruins.
Have you even followed Bergeron this year? -player and a superb 5+5 in 35gp
Bergeron is 33gp 5g 5a and -1 on Bruins 18-14-4 team is -2?
Barkov is 35gp 9g 18a and +7 on Panthers 15-14-6 while the team is -12
So, Bergeron is handed the Selke?

I agree that Kesler is the leader right now, but Barkov should be 2nd.
He's shown he can dominate games with anyone on his wings.
Bergerons offensive numbers are killing him and can't rate him too high now.
Offensive numbers are a reason to rate someone lower for an award that by definition is for the best defensive player?
I love your username!
But please not koivu, please...
That's not the best way to judge PBs defensive effectiveness at all.

Thanks.
I haven't seen much of Koivu live this year, so not much to go on eye test, but some of his stats are pretty nice.
