Not homestead, but La Bamba in plantation is pretty good all around. It isn't exactly authentic but most of their dishes are excellent. Also only a mile from the arena.

Recommend beef chunck burro verde, carne asada and fajitas.

Back to the Mexican....La Cruzada Restaurant if you want the full on Mexican vibe in the middle of little Mexico in Homestead. They even have a little patio out back. There are others on Krome that I haven't checked out yet that are definitely popular with the locals. My favorite is La Pasadita which is more of a take out spot with amazing tacos and plates for a good price. Think authentic Taco Bell, and make sure to load up on condiments for your tacos with fresh cilantro, homemade hot sauces and pickled jalapeños.
