i'm sure the guy on the background made these negotiations easy.
Yeah, they were pulling the old song and dance too. But good for Subban they got it done.

Just dump Cliche to SA like an old fridge at the roadside.
If they didn't do it for two years they aren't going to do it now.
I agree the forwards are pretty much set. The wild cards are O'Reilly obviously and if Winchester can continue or not, if not they will need to LTIR him and bring in someone new. I guess Everberg's spot is in the air until he can come back, not that they'd sign someone to replace him though. Probably just shuffle AHL players.
What would it cost to get eller? Maybe a mcginn for eller swap?

You can bank on Cliche and Guenin being on the NHL roster. Why would they now get sent down after playing 2 years for us? What we can hope for however is them being pushed out of the lineup to the press box. I'm pretty sure Roy and Sakic know they can scratch them without harming development. Here's to hoping that happens. Maybe one solid FA forward signing and one, maybe two D signings.
That's fantastic news. Need him ready for camp.Speaking of, here's a new article with Everberg. The google translate is a bit rough so if anyone would like to give it a proper translation or summary I think that's better than me getting things wrong. I did get out of it that he said the 8 month recovery was incorrectly reported (thanks Frei!) and that he will be ready for camp and that he wouldn't have had the surgery if he was going to miss games.

All indications are that they were prepared to, at the very least, make him the 13th forward this season with Winchester's signing. I don't think Cliche's spot is something that should be considered "safe" by any means.
Wouldn't shock me at all to see Cliche in the AHL next season. I get that he's played here the last 2 years, but 12th/13th forwards are not set in stone. If he gets beat in camp, simple, he'll get sent down.

I don't have time to translate it fully, but he says he'll be fine around August and is really aiming to building more muscle and becoming much stronger on the puck.
Swedish-English google translate translations are usually quite good.
Agreed.
If we don't make moves to push the likes of Guenin and Cliche out of the lineup we are not set on winning. As of now we have no depth to speak of, we can't bank on all of Winchester, McGinn, Everberg, Rendulic and Bordeleau to have great comeback seasons. At some point we have to add proven quality depth.
If other teams can bury/buyout much larger contracts we have to be ready to do the same thing with players that are (minor) contract mistakes.
"One big thing is being more careful with the puck, don't lose possession in the wrong places on the ice. Be patient and don't deke at the blue line, make the safe play instead"
"They didn't expect me to play 55 games and I'm pleased with what I delivered. They have said they want me to add some muscles, and I agree"
"I have gotten a taste of this (the NHL), learned a lot, looking forward to next season like crazy. I already feel very confident and I have gained a lot of expirence"
Aw man just noticed Johnson blocked me on twitter.
