That’s backward thinking. You shouldn’t be making trades to hurt or help other teams. You should make them because they make your own team better.

There is no trading Eichel and getting better.
Also, if you wouldn't miss those pieces, that should tell you something about how little they'd do to backfill the gaping chasm you'd be creating on Buffalo's roster.

If Buffalo trades Eichel, playoffs is out of the question for the next few years. If you trade Eichel, you are getting futures. Instant impact of the group of players acquired is a secondary concern, in my opinion.
