Or Blackwood!how did you not incorporate Miles Wood into this?!

Don't think NJ pays a recent mid-1st for the full contract of Tarasenko. Dumping Johnsson is appealing but not really anything the Devils would spend a significant asset on either.
Change it to a 2nd and NJ is prob in.
There is just a fundamental disagreement on Tarasenko's value. Friedman reported that NJ was scared away but his medicals. They clearly don't value him that high, whereas STL still feels like he's a premium asset. If these teams were on the same page a deal would have been done months ago.
Dumping Johnsson would be nice but NJ is not going to give up a 1st or an equivalent asset for a guy whose health they aren't sold on. We signed Tatar for free and have plenty of young, cheap internal forward options like Foote, Mercer, Thompson, and Holtz.
NJ is ready to push for the playoffs, they wouldn't have brought in Hamilton and Graves and Tatar if they weren't, but they're not quite ready to swing for the fences yet. It would be much better for NJ to wait until February and see if they're still in the hunt, and if they are it would be much cheaper to flip some mid picks and a few of their numerous prospects for rentals.
White is paid twice what he's worth, and is signed to 4 more years. His contract may not be an issue this year or next, but it could become problematic in the future and should be jettisoned from the payroll as soon as possible
IF it comes to trading Tkachuk, I wouldn't mind trading him for Thomas and Kyrou
Not sending White and a 2nd though and getting Johnsson though

No, he's worth easily more than 2.375 per season. He's a very responsible player, he's not flashy by any means but make a lot of subtle plays that coaches will appreciate. His production has been down the last 2 years but still ~0.40 PPG which is still 33 pts per 82 games, decent 3rd line production. His advanced/defensive stats have been pretty good too. The vast majority of Sens fans think he's overpaid by ~1.25 (so worth 3.5). Like some have tried to explain, there's absolutely no point in getting rid of him as he won't bring any positive value. He is well liked by everybody, an honest worker and Chabot's best friend. The Sens aren't even at the cap floor right now, there's absolutely no reason to move him.
If White were a UFA, I doubt he'd get anything above 2.5 million...
Stick to what you know...
But seriously, he's just 24 y/o, has played 3 seasons in the NHL, was 0.60 PPG in his rookie season when he played with good players and 0.40 PPG in a 3rd line role.
Alexander Kerfoot, Cal Clutterbuck, J.T. Compher, Brett Connolly, Brandon Tanev and Chris Tierney make 3.5 AAV, sounds about right
All of them overpaid...
Never ever seen that member in Blues board. That’s so terrible for Ottawa. Woof.
A St Louis fan definitely made this trade proposal.
Tarasenko is still very negative value.
