Penguins:
Crosby - Malkin - Letang

Capitals
Ovechkin - Backstrom - Carlson

Flyers
Giroux - Voracek - Streit

Islanders
Tavares - Okposo - Leddy

Blue Jackets
Johansen - Foligno - Johnson

Rangers
Stepan - Nash - Mcdonagh

The metro has some pretty fun 3 on 3 matchups... Some other teams that would be entertaining:

Kings
Kopitar - Carter - Doughty

Blackhawks
Kane - Toews - Keith

Canadiens
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Subban

Sharks
Pavelski - Thornton - Burns

How are they going to handle penalties at 3 on 3. Will they go to 3 on 2?

In the AHL this year they add a player so it is basically identical to a penalty during 4v4. Of course refs almost never make calls in OT though so I doubt it comes up often.

Tampa Bay not getting any love? Whats crazy is that their most dangerous 3 on 3 line would arguably exclude Stamkos right now.

Nikita Kucherov
Tyler Johnson
Vladislav Namestnikov

This line has flashes Pizza Line type chemistry. They are fast and skilled puck possession dominant, whereby most teams don't really have an answer for right now.

Watch Pittsburgh rolling Crosby - Malkin - Letang and go undefeated in overtime next season.

Tampa would have 2 pretty strong lines. Stamkos - Drouin - Hedman should be interesting to see with Johnson - Kucherov - Stralman/Palat on the second one.

So ****ing exciting to see some 3 on 3 hockey, which looks like its going to be a GO for next season. Going to be extremely exciting with all that open space and the top players on the ice.

Your quick offensive defenseman will be key.

Guys like Karlsson, Subban, Keith, Barrie, Klingberg etc. will thrive in 3v3

Note: obviously left some out, but you get my point.

Cool idea, but that seriously still nets you 2 points and a ROW? Teams with a boss 3 player combo or two will just hang back all 3rd period lol

The Sedins would probably surprise people - not necessarily in a good way.

They're all possession, once they lose it, if they're against a speedy trio then they'll get caught.

The Sedins would be magic!
Pitts could load up with Crosby /Malkin and Letang.
Ovechkin/Backstrom would be great as would Perry/Getzlaff and Kane/Toews with Keith.

He would kill the goalie and slew foot the other 3 players before anyone had time to react. HF Boards would explode. Of course because he is the dirtiest player in the NHL (according to HF Board posters) he would be suspended for one shift.

LOL!!!!

Lots of breakaways in 3 on 3. Who are your teams best breakaway scorers? For Buffalo, I'd say Ennis and Girgensons

As an imperfect analogy, guys who have lots of SHG will probably get a lot of scoring chances 3 on 3. Here are the top SHG scorers so far this year:

4 - Nash, Toffoli, Sutter
3 - Wheeler, Plekanec, Frolik, Girgensons, Kulemin, Cogliano, Boyle, Josefson

Obviously, there are lots of great scorers who don't kill penalties.
