I can name you players who wants to be with Montreal : Armia, Drouin, Gallagher, Evans, Dvorak, Wideman, Dadonov, Edmunston and Anderson. I guess you like these players more than Danault.

The entire LA kings are struggling this year, the minus stat is for every player except Daughty. But Phil is far to be the problem there. Ring your cow bell loud when Phil will be defenitivly the 3rd line C. I'll wait for that. I'm sure you have a strong arm to ring it loud so I will be able to hear it from my far country house.

Cheers Marc ...
LOL

90% nhl players are me me me players. There is an whole generation of me me me persons. My two cents.
Danault knew his value and he was right. LA Kings had a shot at play offs after years of missing play off, mainly because of Danault. *They like him there and Montreal snobbed him. Montreal the fans like you and Montreal the management like Bergevin.

*They : the players, the fans and the management. LA Kings won 2 Stanley Cups, they are not a team of m**ons.
LA is not a low class city in usa.
LA has really been an amazing team, since adding Phil.............truly amazing.
Cheers..........Phil

No.

Out with the stigma and memory of one of the worst trades in franchise history.
why always this absolute tone ? the " worst/best/greatest + (trade/player/goalie/) of the franchise history " blah blah ? It's so meaningless , what is your goal ? to end the conversation with a Carterpellar bulldozer ?
In fact telling us that this trade is one of the worst in the franchise history, only shows us that you or your passion for the Habs is very young .

A thought came to my mind, if Drouin's agent said to the Habs that Drouin is desperate to make it work and pay back the faith the Habs and Habs fans placed in him -- it would be a PR and goodwill coup for both Drouin and the Habs (and possibly give Drouin another shot to extend his NHL career) -- would the Habs accept? Should the Habs accept?

Why or why not?

For your information he has 0 goals, 5 assists in 18 games this season (on pace for 23pts in an 82 game season). He had 20pts in 34gp last season. In his best seasons as a Hab he had 46 and 53 points.

Habs fans have an unnecessary hate-on for Drou because they thought given his draft position and what we gave up for him that he would be the second coming of Lafleur and spark this team to a new level - single handedly Drouin was to save our incapable offensive corps and make them a cup contender.

If you remove where he was drafted, and what we paid to acquire him, Drouin is a fine player that in a 3rd line role would be more than fine with the right linemates. He is super talented, but with all the wrist injuries and the mental health struggles it is clear he has not had the easiest time here.

It would not surprise me at all for Drouin to go somewhere else and be a regular 20g/50p type player as a secondary piece. He would be great on our 1st PP with Caufield Suzuki Dach and a proper QB

Roy, Pierre Turgeon for Corson, Gomez. It was soooooo hard for me to find
It was Turgeon for Muller and Schneider. I remember this because I stopped watching Hockey for a while after that trade.

Edit: I forgot about the Corson for Turgeon trade, that's actually when I started to watch hockey again.

Drouin has scored 20 goals exactly once in his career (and that will be seven seasons ago), and it will be five seasons since he has put up 50 points. There is absolutely no evidence that he can be a "regular 20g/50p type player" at this point in his career.

Lazy, uninspired, entitled, arrogant..................these are the reasons habs fans do not like Drouin.
God given talent, and then zero anything else.
He could have been a good player, with effort, it's just that simple............

I don’t think those are his issues. You just Can’t teach game sense.

Rather bring back Perry in a depth role vs Drouin. I don't hate Drouin but he had his time with the Habs and it didn't work out well. Time to go in separate directions

I don't think he enjoys the game anymore, ever since he realized that he was not going to excel in the NHL. Once his contract is up I wouldn't be surprised if he retired. I also wouldn't be surprised that after a year or 2 he tries again.

Absolutely agree....thinking early on, everything came so easy, to a kid with huge talent.......................then came the NHL.
He has not adjusted to a work level, or ethic that can produce results..............he got his big contract, and he is done.
Almost half way through the season, and no goals, 7 assists, with plum TOI...............wow.

I thought, leaving Jr this was going to be a heck of a player, and he busted......no where near the results we were hoping for.
Warning signs were there, but.................

Everyone would be amazing with Phoenix Copley having a 9-1 record ;) if you don't know who Phoenix Copley is don't panic nobody does.
Of course I know who he is................he almost shut us out, if I remember..............
The Kings are in the Western Conf which right now, is pathetic.................no worries though, most fans don't realize this either....

He would barely be worth signing if he came with a 3 million cap credit. Any generic waiver/AHL-NHL tweener would be a better use of 750k and a roster spot.

It's possible he goes to some other team and stabilizes as a low-end middle sixer that sticks around on a team's 3rd line + PP2 but that "upside" is not worth keeping him around. He's a PP specialist that sucks on the PP, and at even strength he scores like a defensive specialist while being one of the worst defensive forwards in the league. I would rather just give that spot to prospects, waiver grabs, or random AHL depth players like Richard and see if anyone establishes themselves than keep him in the lineup. There's just no upside with him, I don't see any reason to give him a lineup spot over Ylonen or any generic dice roll next year.

I won't deny that I also have a purely irrational desire to just see him gone. I don't dislike the player himself but I am sick of him getting top 6 minutes and PP time, and the constant cope/excuses and stupid explanations for how this year will be different every single offseason. Also tired of the nonstop whining ABOUT the complaining about Drouin - as if fans are being unreasonable for expecting a 5.5M player to not suck total ass.

wow ! Drouin is well know to be the player that listen the highest number of hockey game, to be a training machine . He's also well know to be very implicated in the social events and he received the Habs trophy for dedication to help the community this last seaason . His golf tournaments have generated more than million .

What kind of human feels the need to make-up the reputation of a hockey player on social medias ? i am deeply curious to know what kind of satisfaction or pleasure are you supposed to get ?
