Well, this is kind of interesting. On the development camp roster, they (accidentally?) included a list of available numbers. See below.

Found at:
http://hurricanes.nhl.com/v2/ext/training camp/DevelopmentCampRoster071513.pdf

5, 14, 16, 18, 24, 26, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 46, 47, 50, 54, 56 (Slavin), 59, 61, 65, 66, 69, 71, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 98

Two things:

1) The part that says "56 (Slavin)" is exactly what was on the sheet.

2) There's a bombshell in there, but I'm going to leave it alone and let y'all find it yourselves.

Clearly it's that 69 is available.

I know the real answer though, but I don't really see it as a "bombshell"

Edit: is 97 really not available because of the mascot? Are you ******** me?

For what it's worth, Tyler Ganly is listed as #68 on the main website.

EDIT: And Elias Lindholm 16, which seems available. That list seems inconsistent.

59 is only available until 5pm or so when they raise it to the rafters before the practice starts.

I'd take the reviews with a grain of salt.

One reviewer thought Tolchinsky looked the best and didn't really point out anyone or anything else to get excited about.

Another pointed out Rask and Lindholm, ignoring Karlsson and everyone (even going as far as to say everyone else sucked) while another one stated how Karlsson looked really good and Lindholm looked good but not elite, but both ignored Tolchinsky altogether.

It's almost like there's no consensus... which would match this subforum very well.

Part of the dynamic here is that the two groups of forwards were at opposite ends, so it was tough to watch both groups closely at the same time. Lindholm, Rask and Karlsson were all in the same group at one end, Tolchinsky at the other. Personally, I probably gave 80% of my attention to the group with our top prospects.

This. I only payed attention to the group with the Swedes.

Rask was very good. Lindholm and Karlsson had talent, but beyond flashes had trouble standing out.

I didn't notice Shea. Brake or Bracer or Blazer had a hard shot, but handled the puck like a hand grenade. Passes bounced off of his stick. Pacan also had a shot, but was slow.

As for Tolchinsky, in the limited amount of time I saw him, he was practicing his stickhandling. Looked pretty good. But I didn't pay attention to their group.

A real shame that the defensemen didn't show. I was looking forward to Murphy, Biega, Lowe and Levi.
