Sharks:

Ice a team that can pass the puck. Or just ice a fast team. Sharks get hemmed in easy. Plus we have a dump and chase style offense that can't forecheck very well.

Sharks fans: how do you stop Burns?

Don't give him time. Go balls out blocking shots.

Sharks: Draw penalties, don't worry about taking liberties. Sharks special teams are truly garbage. The more of the series is played at even strength the better for the Sharks.

Habs: Get a screen on Price. Shoot from anywhere, deflect it and hope it goes in.

Pressure the left defense

all the blues left d are basically stay at home D who cant move the puck. They all cycle over to the right D to break out. Ed can sometimes clear and makes plays but Bo and Gunnarson are useless with the puck in every zone

Penguins vs CBJs...so for Torts...

Push everything after the whistles and reckless play between them. Imply to the media that the refs are favouring Crosby and Malkin without directly saying it. If that doesn't work push it even more and say it directly. Act disgusted.

Habs fan here: just don't allow more than 2 goals and you should be good. Because we can't score more than 2.

Leafs:

-Get pucks to the point because the wingers collapse more than they should in the defensive zone
-Double team Matthews and leave Hyman wide open
-Pressure the D when they have the puck behind the goal line
-Go down by 2 goals at any point in the game for an easy win

Your going to want to score early on the oilers and try to get the fans out of it because the building is going to be going crazy.

Rangers - Fall behind. Watching the Rangers play with a lead is like brushing your teeth with a chainsaw.

Sharks - Be fast. The Sharks are the slowest good team ever.

Plan to beat the Oilers; hook, hold, and interfere just short of getting a penalty. Anaheim and LA were the best at it this year, watch the tapes and learn from those vets.

Anaheim has been called for the most penalties in the league and drawn the fewest power plays by far over the last decade fyi

Hope that the refs swallow their whistles if you are a Wild fan. Blues special teams are ridiculous. Nothing special 5 on 5.

Kick Thornton in the knee, punch Couture in the face, throw everyone at Burns to prevent his shot from getting on net or to a tip in front and that will do it. If the Sharks have a high danger scoring chance 5 v 5, take the penalty to stop it - they are much better 5 on 5 than they are with 5-4 advantage. Use speed, the Sharks still have size and skill enough to make life hard for anyone trying to play them hard and tough - play fast like the Pens did in the SC finals and you'll fare better.

If you don't plan on dropkicking Carey Price's knee, here's how you do it: We have a crazy good skater on D, which is Nathan Beaulieu. Then you have a really good skater in Jeff Petry.
That's it. Everyone else is either slow or really slow. (Or slow and sometimes ********. I'm looking at you, Emelin!)

So you have to put pressure fast, and keep the puck moving.

No, all coaches read HFBoards and I don't want them knowing :sarcasm:

HfBoards has over 45,00 members covering NA, Europe, Scandinavia and the rest of the world. I see the average user anywhere from 1000-3000 posts, with some as high as 60,000 +. That's a lot. Tens of millions of views.

Now, while the average opinion may be below average, I would say there is still a lot of good content. You have members that watch all 82 games, and some of them are actually smart.

I know members of the media that use Hfboards to generate ideas. That is obvious though. You would have to be insane to run a professional sports organization and not take the opinion of a large pool of fans.

Now is Mike Babcock and Barry Trotz scanning through HF, well probably not. But point taken, these organizations are on here in some capacity.

1. Forecheck Forecheck Forecheck... Sens have trouble against aggressive forechecking.

2. Beat the trap.

a) The Left side of the Sens D try to play up and disrupt play in the neutral zone. When they move up they are vulnerable to quick plays to the middle of the ice or chipped past them.

b) Attack the right side of the Sens D

The Sens want to have 3 men across the neutral zone and disrupt plays to transition to offense. To disrupt the gap move the puck up in the neutral zone on one side of the ice, then pass the puck back to your D and move the puck across the ice to the other side before advancing again... This will catch the Sens out of position and increase the gap allowing the puck to advance easier..
