Sucks especially for the Lakers. Who knows, they could have had a crazy postseason, and it is not like LeBron is getting any younger...

Not trying to be a dick here but I’m guessing it sucks more for the people who are dying.

Well, of course, but on a sports forum talking about sports leagues/teams, the Kings have nothing to lose to shutter their season early. Imagine if this happened during 2012 or 2014. It would suck to lose a cup run to something like this. Of course, it is far more tragic and transcends sport, but on this topic, it is unfortunate for everyone for a myriad of reasons.

Apparently the Rangers were due to play in Arizona next, however they flew back to NY after their game lastnight against the Avs.

Some discussion of going on a weekly basis with canceling games.

Potential for reduced 76-game regular season.

Expanded playoffs if the entire regular season is scrapped with in upwards of 22 teams getting a postseason birth.

This per Sportsnet.

News starting to filter in from those in the know that the NHL season to be suspended, per Sportsnet.

ECHL and AHL likely to follow suit.

Elliotte Friedman said NHL to make statement by 2 pm, and as has been discussed, suspension for a few weeks. Also said players will not be practicing, t0o much contact and body fluids flying around, will be told to go home.

A few weeks will stretch into longer most likely. Nothing is going to change in 2-3 weeks. This thing is just starting to ramp up. It isn't stabilizing yet.

this. I can't see how they'd be able to resume . On the team the team they are semi protected, charter flights, staying at hotels together. NOw they are scattered and this virus will get a lot worse before it gets better, just wait until people start getting tested and they have to quarentine. So what if they start again in 3 weeks , it's a body contact sport with fluids and other yuck being strewn around. ONce players start testing postive ,they have to shut it down again.
