How much smaller are you wearing you skates?

Rule of thumb is to go 1 to 1 1/2 sizes smaller then shoe size.

Which do you go with and why?

Also, any idea where I could find a new Bauer ONE55 in a 9 D new?

I wear an 11 and my Vapor X:30's are a 9.5D, so 1 1/2. Too bad you don't live in St. Louis, a few of the LHS around here still have the One55's in stock.

I don't really understand that rule. I wear 12-13 size E-EE shoes (depending on brand), but my Bauer skates are size 10.5D (though I could probably fit into a C size boot)

I wear size 12E shoes but my skates are Nike Bauer Supreme One05 size 11R. It doesnt make sense, but the Bauers fit my wide feet well.
I tried Eastons in size 11E and they were way, way too tight.

Wow FloPo a lot of our equpiment is creepily similar. I have the same shoe size and skates.

9 or 9.5 shoe, depending on the width (I have narrow heels and wide toes).

Been using Vapor XXV's in 7.5EE for 2 years, but they're too big. Just got Vapor XXV's in 7.5D off CL last night, they seem better but heels are still too wide.

Saving up for Graf 735's in 7.5D...

i have weird feet, and even though my CCM's are falling apart, they fit my feet so well. I'm not sure i'll ever toss them.

7.5 EE (well widest I could get) in a one75 skate. I find the supremes are bigger fits than vapors.

Wear a 11.5-12 size shoes and my 10 size XVI skates fit PERFECT. My toes just barely graze the end when I put my weight on my toes.

guys it's really not the size that matters...

jk jk but in my ccm powerlines (verrrry recreational skates falling apart after 3 months of use) run at 10 and i'm a 10.5/11

My shoe size is 13.5 and I wear an 11.5EE to 12D Bauer skate size. The 11.5EE skate for my left foot only I need to scrape out the toe cap so my toe does not touch the toe cap too much.

I need custom made skates but themz are some $$$ I think my left foot is almost but not quite a half size bigger than my right if that makes sense. It has been a nightmare my whole life buying skates so I try to as little as possible.

Yeah I'm sure if I could spring for custom skates it'd likely be AA/D with 7.25L and 7.75R with a wide toe cap or something ridiculous.
