Don't say anything at all
The Golden Knights have been in existence for just 4 seasons...and have been to the playoffs each and every one of them. They were a tie-breaker away from the President's Trophy this season.

The Knights are possibly off to the best multi-season start for any expansion team in the big 4 leagues.

So, this brings me to this - when will Vegas miss the playoffs for the first time?

Diamondbacks had a better 4 year start. Won the World Series in their 4th season, however Vegas could do that this year and that combined with their finals run in 2018 would put them on top.

If MacKinnon, Rantanen, Makar, and Landy all get injured in game 2? Absolutely.

Otherwise...this series is over by Sunday.

Did you see game 1?
You realize that that was only ONE loss right?

In the playoffs it doesn’t matter if you lose 7-1 or 1-0 in quadruple overtime. A loss is a loss.

I’d argue you’d rather lose 7-1 in the playoffs, than in overtime.

Either way; there’s still potentially 6 more games to play.

It's impossible to predict beyond 3 or 4 years, but I definitely don't see it happening in that timeframe.Vegas is too strong and their division is atrocious.

3or 4 years will be all they got left unless they start unloading guys they have a bunch of 30 year old players locked up long term.

With Krebs, Morozov, Dugan, Korczak, Cormier, Thompson, Elvenes, Dorofeyev etc. in the pipeline? A long while yet.

They're just finally starting to get their AHL->NHL pipeline going.

Two more years of playoffs out this core and then miss with the current core.

Smart transactions/drafting/whatever can lengthen that fairly easily.

Sure do, even said as much elsewhere but there’s no reason to believe that was an aberration. I guess if Reaves keeps being allowed to try and injure guys they might have a chance, but I doubt it.

Will they win the Cup before missing the playoffs, I wonder which comes first. They have been ridiculous as a new franchise. If not for their melt down against San Jose, who knows what would have happened. But they definitely seem set-up for success, for at least 4-5 years.
