I didnt get my 1st choice (21) this year, so i got 4, now i play everywhere my team needs me. I've played C, LW, RW, D and Goalie this year. If i was going to play for a WHL/AHL/NHL team i'd probably wear 23. just because my birthdate minus the year is 02/23.

#59 because it was the reverse of #95...I started to play in 1995, so I just went with that because I liked higher numbers. I couldn't wear #95 though, for some reason, so I just reversed it and it stuck.

Occasionally wore #9 also when coaches decided that wearing a high number apparently means you think you're better than the 'team'...such a stupid, idiotic notion...I never wore a 'normal' goalie number, which I was fairly proud of for some reason. Still, to this day, I smile any time I see a goalie wearing a non-#1 or 30-39 number.

#18. I panicked when I was asked what number was my back up if 19 wasn't available. O well.

I wear 91 for Sakic in the Olympics, not really sure why I don't want 19 as much. It was between 91 and 12 (Simon Gagne) for me.

15 - the date I was born.

If that number is taken, I'll settle with anything that ends in a 5 or 0.

Makes little to no sense but when I played I had number 8 all 6 years I played. Oddly enough it was for Kobe Bryant who I still have a man crush on. I know its sad but it is what it is. The only time I didnt have 8 was for roller which I had 14 and Im not sure why.

Originally I started with 9 (Paul Kariya) but I decided to do something a little more personal. I now rock 32 because my birthday is on Feb 12 and my little brother's is April 20 so 12+20=32.

My number is usually 93, but in minor they go from 1-19,30 sometimes, or I'd take 39 otherwise. But I go with 19 because lots of hockey greats wore that number, and that number I MUST have, I chose 93 cause I'm born that year, and I was born in 1993 so I take the 19 and there I somewhat have it.

Used to wear 27 for JR, when I moved up a year group and 27 was taken I switched to 73. Saw it somewhere and liked it and I'm still on it today 10yrs later.

I'll take #13 first, in honour of Selanne.
if not that, then 3 or 33. I like the number 3 for some reason.

I chose my number because it is the answer to life, the universe and everything.

Same here.

Even growing up as a kid, I always thought picking my favorite player's number was too "egotistic" and stayed away from them in whatever sport I played.

Yet I have no problem being the answer to the Ultimate Question...

I picked 17 because it's my favourite number and birthday. Plus I was a rook and it was one of the only numbers left over.

When I switched teams I picked 5 because of Nick Lidstrom and I think 17 looks stupid on a defenceman. Wore 5 till I hung em up.

Back in the day, my ice leagues for squirt through bantam issued jerseys to players so I wore what I was given. When I started playing inline I was #10 because of Bure (even after he switched to 96)

Now I'm 93 because when I joined my team it was one of few available jerseys they had, and I just stuck with it.

21! Everything in my life either had one of those two numbers in them so why not combine them. And because of #21 Mike Eruzione, captain of the USA miracle on ice team, just reminds me on the ice that anything can happen!

there's a 9 in every digit of my birthdate, 9/29/89 so i usually go #9, #19, #89, #90. #9 is my first choice.

so far i've never had to pick any other outside those 4, except i wore #22 for a mens league team a while back because it was the only jersey they had left over.
