If he can't become as good of a playmaker, I would think consistent 50+ goal, 90 + point seasons would put him in conversation.

That's assuming McDavid also doesn't improve his output, which I think he will do anyway, so I am not sure if he could catch him. It's possible, but we shall see how things turn out.

Side note: how can Jesper Bratt put himself in the same convo as Matthews?

What does he need to do to be put on equal footing with Matthews?

You're bad at this.
When your answer is for Matthews to be a "little better" when you also say in another thread that no one ever put Matthews on the same billing as McDavid for equal skill and ability, and then reference my earlier post, you know it's all gone Pete Tong.

Time to hang up the keyboard. You'll can hang another Matthews jersey over your computer. Positives!

1. Win multiple Cups
2. Win multiple individual trophies (Rocket is probably the most likely one)
3. McDavid suffers a few more bad injuries/misses large chunks of seasons based on his style of play *knocks on wood*
4. Be better than all the other young players up and coming (basically be widely considered 2nd best)

So it's pretty unlikely.
