Despite his 9 game pointless streak in January (which was the biggest driver of his comparatively lowish goal differential), his underlying numbers remain extremely strong due to him putting in, not only the best defensive season of his career but also one of the better ones among top 6 centers this season. His finishing has certainly come back around as of late and it's probable he'll end up with around 30 goals and 70 points IMO. Combine all that with being a top 10 faceoff guy and its not hard to see why he's he's got this type of rating from the Athletic:

Market value this season: 9.8 million

The answer is to move him to a team that needs to reach the cap floor and saves millions in real dollars. With Chicago over paying stiffs like Mrazek, Foligno and Perry, they would be a good candidate. Sell Tavares on the city of Chicago and playing with Bedard.
