Nice to see CDS put up a good performance and in a big game.

Nothing special but a solid road win; wonder how different it would have looked with McDavid playing.

Nice to see Lindholm skating and checking well these last couple games. Even if he doesn't score much he can still be a very valuable piece.

Pettersson is so frustrating.

Nice win.

Still could lose division title though, Oilers should basically crush Sharks and Yotes.

Thought DeSmith looked sharp. Feels like it’s been an either or season for him. Either he’s giving you starter games or 3rd string games.

But the funny thing was - that was Silovs this year as well… except in ABBOTSFORD. So I never really got the banging on the drum for Silovs to take the job. DeSmith and the team needed him to have this game.

I thought the blue line was good today. I always feel good about the team’s defense when it’s the top pair that plays the worst. Cole’s last few have been like the start of the season. Zadorov had been bad the previous few but was good tonight.

The forward group is interesting. I honestly think Pettersson has been decent the last few. I really do wonder where the magic has gone. Feels like we saw it his first two years, then the last 40 games of 2022-23 and that’s it. But, for now, if he can elevate that Mikheyev-Hoglander winger group to punch above at evens, I think that’s magical enough for the playoffs… and then he can reset in the offseason.

Feel like there’s three combinations they can go to:

1. What they had today

2. Joshua - Miller - Boeser
Garland - EP - Hoglander
Mikheyev - Lindholm - Podkolzin
Suter - Blueger - Lafferty

3. Lindholm centering one of EP/Miller

4. The lotto line

Like I honestly do think they have a level of flexibility here. What would make their life easier is if the powerplay, Mikheyev, and Lindholm all came to life offensively but I think they’ll be tinkering to try and mitigate for the lack of goal scoring.

Zadorov, Soucy, the third line, and the 4th line were solid tonight.

Hronek was beyond trash. Hughes was okay. Pettersson Miller and Boeser were unremarkable.

DeSmith excellent. Plays like a Vezina against the Coilers.

Looks like us vs the Preds is all but certain.

I think that should be less high end than a nearly healthy Vegas and more entertaining than playing the Kings. Bonus for the people who love to hate Drance so much is he's all dejected over the idea of doing the Nashville travel.

Couple notes

Give DeSmith his god damn due ya boooooooi

Teddy f***IN Blueger

Probably the most workmanlike game of the season. They bent but they didn’t break. Boeser looked a bit tentative at times but he’s not afraid of being the man driving to the net. That’s great to see he is playing his most fearsome hockey since his rookie year. Probably the most road victory of the year. I was overall very encouraged. That Lindy, Garland, Dak moment was a good moment. EP getting antsy for the puck even, he’s a gamer and he knows it. Something is holding him back. Maybe even himself, but he wants that f***ing puck at least. Myers, an adventure as always but still somehow made a huge mark on the game and ends in the good books. Hog an absolute trench warrior, our new age Swedish Burr? So many things but at least has sense to pull up out of the muck and not into it.

Mikh god damn I don’t like the way his game looks. It’s ugly. Idk it looks like he hasn’t aten solid food ever, I mean I think like f*** what a nerd but damn it I can tell he’s digging deep but shit man

I like how we match up against them. They just had a hot streak, but have cooled off. I would take them over a Stanley Cup defending champ getting an all star back. Vegas are Chicago 2011 all over again.

Agreed on the defence. Thought the bottom 4 dmen - Cole, Soucy, Myers and Zadorov had solid games. Hughes and Hronek had a rough night, especially Hronek.

Just don't see Hronek being a 7m+ player... I probably wouldn't even give him 6m+ tbh

extremely satisfying win. As you know or not, I also socialise with others on other platforms.

there are 32 other fans out there. None comes close to the Oiler fans and their obnoxiousness. AINEC. good riddance was this win needed. Also whats with the Evan Bouchard is on Quinn Hughes level? good gracious.

Would like to see

Suter miller Boeser
Joshua Petey Garland
Pod Lindholm Hog
MiK Bluger Lafferty

In the next game, try and get Petey going, we are going to need him firing on all cylinders.

Hoglander

Your Mother's House.
Good:

@Baby Pettersson - constantly watched the game. Hustled lots during intermissons to pee.

@Ginger Papa - again, good effort tonight keeping up with the posts. Prompt reactions all night.

@M2Beezy - Guy is a legitimate yapper at both ends of the forum.

Bad:

Not too many bad eggs tonight.

Ugly:

Vector - Ghost. Nowhere to be seen. Is all over the place during the early portion of the season but just no shows when the intensity ramps up.
I gave my best and nothing to show for it here.

Also... At what point do we wonder what our team would look like with Brady Tkachuk or Necas/Jarvis instead...

Nice having really big, physical blue liners like Zadorov, Myers and Soucy. Even Cole can play a heavy game. Imagine getting Juulsen in there as well. Nice job of building the blue line honestly. Adam Foote-esque.

Oilers can take small solace that they kept Petey, Boeser & Hughes off the score sheet. Twasn't enough though to get any points! :D

No, but apparently when we win the cup, it will be against either Boston, NY Rangers or Islanders, a team we've played before. Which is why I watch the Islanders likely making it with interest. Qualifying it with 'a team the Canucks played in the finals before' makes me think it's a mindbleep and it could be the Isles lol
This must surely followed by triumphs in the SCF over NYR and BOS in the ultimate 3-year revenge tour.
