1. Neely (but Bourque gets an honorable mention)
2. Bergeron
3. Montreal. This sums up my feelings pretty well:

4. Olaf Kolzig and Andy Moog
5. McAvoy - I think he has the potential to be the next great, legendary Bruins defenseman. Excited to see how he progresses.

1) Samsonov and it’s not close
2) Marchand
3) does Vanek still count? Otherwise probably Claude
4) Lord Byron
5) Pastrnak

I am very surprised there hasn't been any votes for Gretzky yet since more kids got involved in hockey after his trade to LA then at any other time.
I almost put him on my list. That 81-82 season was just ridiculous. However I was already in love with hockey by then, so he didn't quite fit the question for me. Also, the NHL didn't have the TV coverage that it enjoys today, so a lot of people rarely got to see him play. Especially in the US.

Just to give you an idea of how stupid-good Gretz and those Oilers teams were in the mid 80s:

Gretzky 84-85 stat line: 73/105/208 and +100

The next closest player in scoring that year was Jarri Kurri with 135 points. Gretzky won the scoring title that year by 73 points......To put that in perspective, Jamie Benn won the scoring title in 2014-15 with 87 total points.

Stan Jonathan - Probably my first "favorite" player. Loved that he was small, but so tough.

Milan Lucic - Was my favorite player when he was here and since he hasn't retired - I guess by default he's the answer

Chicago - Losing to them sucked in '13 -- but I wasn't devastated because the players were tough and played the game right.

Pete Peeters - I was devastated when he lost his consecutive win streak in 83? - vs. NYI?

David Pastrnak - It will be exciting to see if he can break the Bruins goal scoring record.

I will smash your face into a car windshield, and then take your mother Dorothy Mantooth out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again.

Phhhht!

Orr in 1970-71 - 37/102/139 and +124

Next highest scoring defenseman was JC Tremblay with 11 goals and 63 pts, less than half that of Orr's. Also won the one trophy Gretzky never had on his mantel.

1. Never had access to NHL hockey as à kid in Sweden and SEL hockey was rarely on TV. I remember watching the World Championships and was mesmerised by the Russian KLM line’s domination. The CCCP routinely beat Sweden by 10-1 score lines and such in the 80’s. So it’s Krutov/Larionov/Makarov for me. Recall being impressed by Vlad Ruzicka for the Czechs as well, quite fitting he became a B later on.
2. David Krejci
3. Has to be the Habs, although I’ve picked up most of these “habits” on here. The Finns for international hockey, but they’re more of a mild nuisance.
4. Dominik Hasek
5. Pastrnak, McAvoy and Connor McDavid.

1. It's a split. From the Bruins' end, it's Ray Bourque. But I was first introduced to hockey through an Islanders' minor pro team in our city, where I idolized Kelly Hrudey

2. Torey Krug & Patrice Bergeron

3. Hard to say. Probably Chicago, but I also work for one of their affiliates, so that's cheating a bit.

4. Andy Moog

5. Pasta

growing up in BC i was a Canuck fan as a little kid.
The guy the drafted the first year i kind of understood what the draft was:

1. Cam Neely, he became my favorite Canuck, and by the time they traded him the Canucks were terrible, so my 10 year old self, who also liked Ray and Nifty jumped ship and never looked back

2. St. Patrice, but that's not a fair comparison for mere humans, so i'll also shout out Krug and Tuukka (and Brad) (and Z)

3. Loathe them, but it can't be anyone other than the Habs

4. Richard Brodeur (the Canucks run in 82 was special (until the ran into the juggernaut that was the Isles)

5. Pasta, Charlie Mac and (hopefully) Fredrick

You know, when I heard that Boston traded Barry Pederson to Vancouver for some Neely guy who I never even heard of, I was not happy. I don’t think I was alone in that sentiment, either.

That’s why I’m not an NHL GM.........
