Ya boxes are a bloodbath in all sports. Manufacturers increased prices way too much to justify opening stuff

I used to open a few physical boxes of each flagship release but now I'm strictly ePack for that stuff. At least I can trade my garbage cards for some sort of salvage value

Yeah these are the first physical boxes I've opened in a while and it's just not as fun as I remember unless it's a high end product

Even high end stinks because they've increased prices and cut down the # of hits you get. I bought two Gretzky patch cards for the price of a Premier hobby box

The newest addition to my collection. On its way to me now, bought right before the playoffs. So nice to be a Stars fan and be able to get a card like this for under $200. Also have Hintz too and he was nice and cheap

Unfortunately JRob is so pricey still. Will have to wait a few years there I guess. Johnston is my next buy but only one up for sale right now and he's expensive..Will have to wait for him as well

I am so surprised Miro's rookies are still relatively cheap. I'll have to snag one of his FWA before it goes up. You can still snag one for about $100.

Robo and Otter prices have gotten ridiculous.

Yeah a Miro FWA is on my list to get as well for sure. Really want a JRob one as well

There was a BGS 9.5 Miro yg exclusives that just sold for $166 in February, so 2 of the last 3 sold now are under $200 USD. Guess it's not that surprising tho, dmen seem to be significantly cheaper than forwards. Adam Fox won a Norris in a much bigger market and is under $500. Only Makar is truly expensive.

I would suspect Robertson will be close to normal Stars player values within a few years tho (hopefully!)

Decided to grab a SPGU pack and got a pretty cool pack I think:

The Rink Glass redemption might end up being a cool piece.

Ultimately SPGU is one of the biggest kicks to the junk every year. I haven't opened any (I learned my lesson with SPGU back in like 2007) but I've been watching the price of singles keep dropping on COMC. I've spent a net $167.56 usd because I've already flipped the Scheifele.

The Gretzky #/35 was one of the only cards I wanted out of the product. I picked it up for $50 usd.

Newest addition to my collection. Not a great picture I know and also not in amazing shape (some edge damage on the top right that's pretty noticeable when you're looking at it) but I've never really cared about the condition of my PC items as long as its not completely terrible, I just want the damn things.

Super happy to finally get this one. Now have YG exclusives for Heiskanen, Harley, Johnston, Hintz, Dellandrea. Need JRob but he's so pricey

Opened 1 hobby box and got Bedard. For $300 might as well just buy his singles but to be fair when I bought the box last week he was like $900 lol. Lucky I got one tho I can't complain. We shall see if he keeps dropping (at like $500-550 US now).

I'll probably keep him just cause I wanted the card anyways

I'm no expert but it does look pretty nice. Maybe some slight edge damage (not visible in that picture obv) on the middle/top left side. Minor but it caught my eye. I'll have to check again just to make sure. From what I've seen the quality is pretty solid in series 2 in general which is great to see

I'll post a better picture when I get a chance

Seems like tins are the way to go for the Bedard hunt. 4 YGs on average per tin for series 2. At this point they're still under $100 a tin. For the price of a hobby box right now you can buy 3 tins and still have a good amount of money left over AND get double the amount of young guns. Of course, some cards aren't available in retail but realistically none of us are gonna pull those cards either way

I have a few blasters I snagged for their normal price of $25 each and a few tins for slightly above their normal value ($88 each - jesus i remember when these were like $30). We shall see if I get another Bedard. I ordered these prior to the hobby box thinking I wasn't gonna pull him in there lol. Maybe I just don't open them but that's no fun
