Did you really just compare two one hit wonders to one of the biggest hip hop stars of all time?
One of the most overrated. I'm sure if vanilla and KK sold their souls to pop culture they would be just as "big."

Snoop talking hockey is akin to Cuba Gooding jr. Some here are so desperate looking for the NHL to be seen as relevant by anyone that's remotely popular.

Snoop is easy to like, so it's not hard to figure why NHL has him doing this.

He's a legit hockey fan as well.

How is he overrated? The fact that you are still comparing him to f***ing Vanilla Ice of all people shows how much you underrate him.

No one here has shown to be desperate about Snoop associated with NHL talk. We all acknowledge his worth, that hes actually likeable and is a relevant talent. Keep reaching. If anything you're the one who is desperate here at the opposite side with the constant mudslinging directed at Snoop.

I think Snoop genuinely likes the NHL so this was probably an easy job for him

Snoop is widely recognized artist, and he happens to be a fan of the sport. Whats there not to like? Exactly.

Whats my motherf***ing name?

Not my thing usually but that was pretty interesting and plenty charming. Well done.

Snoop is one of the best entertainers on Earth.

Saw this on Facebook and oh dear the comment section was hard to read. Middle-aged rednecks really didn't like his presence in the ads.
Why assume people are middle aged and/or red necks? I’m guessing there’s more baggage here.

I find it weird how someone who has song lyrics about killing cops and using drugs - and who has even produced porn movies - can simultaneously be presented as a folksy celebrity for all ages. Do the NHL execs not know about this stuff?

His intro album Doggystyle like 25 years ago was GREAT. Everything since has gotten progressively worse. He's a glorified meme. Oh fo sizzle dawg you like to smoke weed? Oh wow. He's so loveable. Give me a break.

At least ice cube is tolerable and as an artist has done significantly better work.

Artistic freedom and integrity. He's obviously not actually killing cops.
He also has a very likeable personality and has a strong media presence. He's just a very relaxed, chill guy that is very likeable.

Again, your ignorance to the rapper's success is on large here. Stop pretending that you actually know what you're talking about here.

For example, his second album released in 96 was better than his intro album. Based off a reputable source: "Tha Doggfather charted at number one on both the US Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. To date, the album sold two million copies in the United States and sold better internationally than its predecessor, "Doggystyle" (1993)."

If we look at his later albums released in 2008 "Ego Trippin"
Reputable source: "The album debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, selling 137,000 copies in its first week"

Fairly successful even 12 years later.

His latest album in 2018 sold over 3,000 copies during the first week.

Snoop is not as successful as he was in his prime, but his music still till this day generates respectable positive reviews. Snoop has shown that he's much more about music. Snoop isn't one of those generic rappers who sticks to just music. He's a cultural, and media icon who promotes diversity around the world, and generates trends daily.

I prefer Ice Cube over him too, but let's not dismiss the achievements and feats Snoop has accomplished in his life.

I know much more about the topic than you think considering i'm actually a fan of hip hop. You just listed some album sales to suggest "Tha Doggfather" was better than "Doggystyle"? Serious? No person that actually knows hip hop would stake such a ridiculous claim. Nothing he's done since touches "DoggyStyle." Seems like you're the ignorant one.

Please quote a reputable source that has ANY Snoop Dogg Album ahead of his first. Just one. Lol @ using album sales. JOKE.

The point is simple, Snoop is a meme. A joke. Snoop Lion? Really? Cringe! He's not funny. He does not amuse me. People desperately trying to associate their products as being cool and hip because Snoop Dogg has put his name on it, makes me face palm. Snoop was "cool" in the 90's. It's 2018.

You are constantly ignorant when it pertains to Snoop's success as a relevant entertainer, that's for certain. I don't care whether you listen to hip or not, that's irrelevant to the topic at hand. Scratch the better part, it's inconsequential. Doggstyle generated more success internationally than the intro album? Yes. So your original premise that everything got progressively worse is simply subjective.

Using album sales is the best indicator to suggest the success of the album, as well as where it is charted. Once again your ignorance is on display.

International success is a thing you know:

"Tha Doggfather"

Tha Doggfather charted at number one on both the US Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. To date, the album sold two million copies in the United States and sold better internationally than its predecessor, "Doggystyle" (1993).

More importantly, one thing you fail to understand is that Snoop isn't just about hip hop/rap. He's more than that.

The fact that you are basically poking fun at how the guy entertains several others who find him likeable and entertaining just shows that you are short sighted/have narrow minded level of thinking.

Snoop has shown that he likes hockey and the video is aimed about the stanley cup playoffs. The fact that you are aimlessly insulting how he promotes himself, and talking down on his relevancy as an entertainer/celebrity/rapper is downright unnecessary.
