The skaters list is awful. Three active players in top four yet guys like Thornton and Crosby are not in it.

I only included active 500+ goal scorers. That's why Thornton and Crosby are not on the list.

The goaltenders list includes active goalies who were listed in the Hockey News Top 100 Goalies of All-Time (2018). Crosby will get on my list after he scores his 500th goal. He needs 54 more goals, and he's only had one 50-goal season his whole career.

Crosby led the league in goals twice, but i take it that's not good enough for you.
Regarding Thornton; Are you aware that your rule will exclude him on your list right up until he suddenly appears on it, once he retire?
Exciting dynamics going on there.

Is Iginla the only guy who is eligible for the first time that is a lock? It is going to be him and you would have to think he headlines this class. Wouldn't it be nice if his old teammate Fleury joined him? I know he has rubbed people the wrong way, but let's not forget the guy was an excellent hockey player for at least a decade.

They seem to be grabbing some older guys, so maybe this is Tremblay and Middleton's chance? I am guessing the door is closing on them more and more as time goes on. Tremblay is probably the most important Hab on that 1960s dynasty outside of Beliveau. I honestly don't know why he isn't in yet, WHA or not. If he retired in 1972 I think that would have given him a good enough career. Just imagine he doesn't bolt to the WHA. He plays for Team Canada, does well let's assume, wins another Cup in 1973 which boosts his total to 7. Yeah, how do you keep him out?

There is no goalie who is a lock cinch either. Vachon was the last of the "for sure" omissions. The others like Barrasso, Vernon, etc. all have at least some warts although Barrasso probably is in by now if he was perceived better by the media.

So is Crosby a better HHOF candidate then Pat Verbeek right now, yes or no?

No way in hell. Henri Richard !

Then arguably Jacques Laperrière, Ralph Backstrom.

05. Keith Tkachuk (538)
06. Marian Hossa (525)
07. Pat Verbeek (522)
08. Pierre Turgeon (515)
09. Jeremy Roenick (513)
10. Peter Bondra (503)

So it's not really your list after all.
It is a ranking that is not about players chances for the Hall, even though some overlapping probably can be found.
Besides that lower on it is suddenly Not after career goals.
Makes my head hurt more than me just having woke up from sleep.

My list is also biased. It's mostly players from the 80s-90s.
