Watch the replay again. Giordano dived to try and trip McDavid and he moved Gio's stick. Unfortunate as I hate to watch players get injured, but Gio didn't do this (even though he did attempt tripping).

Giordano stuck his stick out to get the puck, McDavid grabbed Giordano’s stick to block and then the two collided and he fell into the net at breakneck speed. Have a PVR so I’ve watched it many times already. Very unfortunate, but clearly no intent. But I’m not sure why McDavid is going full blast in the final meaningless game of the year. Curl back and play it conservatively so you don’t potentially hurt yourself and have to rehab all summer.

They just showed him throwing his shoulder and arm into McDavid after he realized he was beat. Matches his suspension history.

He's not coming back. Good news is if it's a broken leg, he will recover 100%. Unlike ligament damage where there could be longer term effects.
