Backlund now has a goal in every game he's played in since November now, remarkable.

Goal waived off since the Detroit goalie lost his mask (again), which was the right call, but why is the face-off in the neutral zone?

Not sure. His masked was forced off by a Calgary player so the no goal call was right. But the face off should have stayed in Detroits zone.

No question that the call was right but I thought that was weird. Especially since the player that knocked the mask off was shoved into the goalie by a Detroit player

Wow. Puck comes out of the zone by an inch and Calgary thinks they scored again. Gotta be some frustrated fans there tonight because they don't get the same angles.

Edit: well the players knew it wasn't going to count but the lights went off

Honestly though, why didn't Glencross get a penalty? He was in the crease (albeit with a Wings player), but he took Mrazek's mask off with his elbow, then had his leg stuck between Mrazek's not allowing him to move across the crease. What else do you need to do for a goaltender interference penalty?

The player knocked the mask off because he elbowed Mrazek. It wasn't removed from the force of the player being pushed.

Probably because Ericsson pushed him into the goalie

Also of note is that the offensive-zone faceoff came of a ******** intentional offsides call.

Ericsson sandwiched him somewhat. He did not propel Glencross's elbow into Mrazek's head.

How much is Mrazek payed? Surely he can go buy a mask that fits, how many times can it fall off in one game?

Did he still get elbowed in the head? Yes or no?

The fact that his helmet came of is irrelevant, and the goal would probably been called off with the helmet on.

I said twice it was the right call, but he was having mask problems all night. At what point can he be told to go address the issue? Like Scrivens with his stick tape last week

It came off twice. That's it. Once when he took a puck to the head. And for all we know, he just took his helmet off because he was shaken up a bit. The sportscasters speculated that he had helmet issues. But the first goal was hardly because of his inability to keep his helmet on. So the first time is up in the air.

Second time it was forced off his head.

I highly doubt that calls for a helmet malfunction that needs tending to. And it wasn't reoccurring all night.
