I agree with your assessment. Your forwards are great, but your 'd' is not and they are injury prone as well.

D are the least valuable players in fantasy hockey. His team looks great.

Depends, they are not as valuable for Goals and assists certainly, but they can be very valuable for Hits, Blocks, +-, and just as valuable for PIM as forwards. Where Forwards generally excel at sog, fow, so it's a trade off.

The only real detriment they have in my book is there are less of them, and thats really the crux of it. Still I expect my defensive group to have a big impact on my fantasy team this year as I have a really strong group with Burns, Hamilton, Klingberg, Jones, Myers and Bagosian.

I don't know how good my team will end up being, but I expect to win goals and hits just about every week.
