At the risk of being uber noob-ish, what are the keeper rules? I took my team over just before the draft last season... lost Kovalchuk within a week, consarnit

First change I want to propose (aka what we're doing unless everyone hates it):

In the past we've given the Champion the first overall entry pick, 2nd place 2nd...etc. Last year we did not do an entry draft due to time restrictions. So what I want to do is combine these past two years in putting together the entry draft order based off of positions finished. However, the worse teams get the better picks.

The champion will now be given the first selection in the Regular Draft order, with 2nd place following...etc.

Here is how the Entry Draft Order will look:

Pick|Team
1st|Ottawa
2nd|Rangers
3rd|Pittsburgh
4th|Tampa Bay
5th|Los Angeles
6th|Anaheim
7th|Dallas
8th|Islanders
9th|Nashville
10th|Philadelphia
11th|Phoenix
12th|Colorado
13th|Washington
14th|Vancouver
15th|Montreal
16th|St. Louis

I'd say stick with NHL Entry Draft rules and have playoffs factor in to the draft rankings. Especially since you're saying the Champion gets first pick in the main draft, he should have the last pick in the entry draft.

Hm. Interesting to say the least. I've never seen a keeper pool follow these rules. Not that I disagree, it's not a bad idea, just kind of odd.

Congrats though bro!

From a self-interest point of view, I hate the merging of the two years because I sucked so bad this year. But logistically, I suppose it makes sense.

My keepers right now are looking like:

Carter, Stamkos, Turris, Hamilton, Sekera, Lehner and undecided on the 7th  Likely Tatar.

Carter and anyone not named above (save Hertl and Zibanejad) can be discussed. Would like to add another keeper defenseman or a goaltender.

Nich wasn't drafted in our entry/prospect draft so you have to use a keeper on him.
