Proposal: Hanifin for Nylander Revisited

I think the leafs will try and trade Nylander for a guy like Hanifin this summer but I’m not sure if anyone bites.

He’s skilled but to soft and one dimensional to bring back a dman under 24 with top pairing upside imo. Probably more likely getting offered a guy like Faulk or brodin which I would still probably do if I’m the leafs.

No it isn't. To think it will is absurd. He isn't some defensive specialist that will make the team reduce their shots against or shoddy own zone play.

While I agree with you, I wonder what the Sharks (giving up seven goals) and Lightning (giving up six goals) are thinking after their first game of the second round.
Just saying all teams wish they had better Dmen especially on the bottom pairing.

LHD just isn't a position of need, so if the Leafs trade Nylander it would to upgrade the team at a more deficient area. Haven't we seen so many trade proposals where the Leafs seem are forced to take any Dman at any cost.

Wonder if the Kings are thinking about their high priced Dman after a sweep by Vegas. Or Tampa and Sharks after their first game whipping. So it's not like other teams don't wish they had upgraded Dmen either, but for some reason it's just the Leafs.

I could say the same about this post. Rielly and Dermott are great top 4 D. Bottom pair is taken care of. It's the RD who's best player was Zaitsev and Hainsey that is the issue.

Was really hoping for Carolina to win the dahlin sweepstakes because imo they would have made hanifin expendable. Nylander for hanifin is a pretty good base for a trade.

You can probably get Hanafan for Nylander. But not Hanifin
