I heard he sneezed today, causing him to tear his ACL and give himself another concussion when his head hit the pillow.
Quite possible..........another great decision this summer, from the GM...hard to believe the organization didn't fire MB in September, after this past summer he put in...

You forgot Petry, Benn, Shaw, Davidson, Mitchell, Flynn, Deslauriers

The good are:
Weber, Byron, Drouin, Danault, and Montoya.

Pretty short good list especially considering we gave up Subban and Sergachev to get it.

About Deslauriers though, he acquired him in a trade for the glorious Zach Redmond, another useless UFA signature (from last year).

I do not like Byron, can live with Danault, love Weber but not on this team in this environment.

Snappy dresser MB is now making Houle look like the 2nd worst GM in our history.
I know there’s a ton of angst directed towards MB right now, and a lot of it (though in my opinion not all of it) can be justified, but he has a long way to go yet to achieve the level of ineptitude displayed by Rejean Houle when he was GM.

Nope his body of work accumulated is as bad. Houle was bad for his time, but when you factor other things like cap, starting team, ending team, etc. This defence is an abomination. Quite possibly the worst ever assembled by the habs. 2 history making collapses. Been downhill since year 2. Last year and each years TDL, Building through the draft but has less picks than normal. Not much positive to say. Remember how he KILLED it with the Petry trade. That is considered his best move, petry, think about it. Vanek walked, radulov walked, he forced markov out, ghetto for AHLer, moving wingers to center and centers to wingers. Not even replacing parts at this point. Traded away our entire LD and almost all of our right in 13 months. We still have no center, development for the habs was never this bad.

This list is long. If you want to look outside of just our trades he is by FAR the worst GM we have had. Country Club with zero accountability. Egotist running the organization from top to bottom. We don't even have a president FFS. Do you know who did fire, the guy that said it might not be advisable to trade subban for weber as far as data was showing. He was DOING his job. Telling the boss what the data said and he got fired for it. All the clowns in Laval, drafting, scouting, development in general, our PP, our PK. NOT doing their jobs but secure as long as MB has a job.

I'm telling you guys... he got injured while signing his contract then tried to play through it and it didn't work.

Aggravated the injury and here we are.

Seriously though, did anyone really think Hemsky would A) Stay healhy and B) help this team in any way??

To think our starting 5 could have been:

Max Pac - Drouin - Radulov

Markov - Weber

It seems like Hemsky is getting the Semin treatment. Gets injured and slowly just vanishes away to the point when his contract is terminated that everyone is like "we still had him".

as an oiler fan we always hope the best for him--but he gets injured--not a matter of if but when.

I noticed in an offseason interview that he didn't seem well built at all. If he's not training hard and adding muscle to his physique, in this league, where everyone else is, he's going to get run over and injured.

As soon as Hemsky will be healthy... if that ever happens... he will be put on waivers, or Habs will buyout the rest of his contract.

He's 34 and has never been known as a guy who puts the time in. Hemsky was all skill for his entire career, and this is what happens when you don't keep up to snuff. Amazing player to watch during the Oilers' Cup run years back, though.

It's a country club and ownership is complicit in perpetuating it. Worse, ownership is buying the country club's excuses wholesale. It's going to have to get worse before it gets better.
