Sorry but Kulak IS better than Niku.I don't understand how Niku is in the doghouse. Kulak is no better than him honestly
He's going to play like 5 minutesGuess I'll have to take an afternoon nap tomorrow so I can catch this, want to see how Norlinder does.
Better than nothing! A promising Swede making his debut for the Habs is not something that happens very often. He's going to play like 5 minutes
Way to show confidence in a kid making a debut

They already don’t think he’s ready to man the top PP unit.I just hope they intend to let him play to his strengths and don't give him the short leash/choke collar treatment our organization loves so much...
Like even if you think that as a coach…why the hell would you say it??par for the course... DD clearly went to the MB school of using the media to undermine your top young talent
Lmao they can have 5 coke machines in the lineup at the same time but god, there's just no way we could have THREE guys that can make a competent pass!!!!!
Somehow it's fine to have Weber, Chiarot, Merrill, and Edmundson in the lineup at the same time, but you can't have more than one puck mover beyond Petry. Asinine, especially given Wideman has played well enough that he probably shouldn't ever be a scratch on this blue line.
No, scratched.

Size possibly?I don't understand how Niku is in the doghouse. Kulak is no better than him honestly
Yeah he's not anything special but he's been a perfectly acceptable #5D + PP specialist for this team, and honestly has probably been our 2nd or 3rd best overall Dman this year. In some ways that's grading on a curve, but he's been a perfectly serviceable #5 and there's no way he should be scratched for basically any non-injury reason on this team if we're pretending it's a meritocracy.I’m not the biggest Wideman fan but he leads this D “corps” in scoring and is tops with a -1 rating (oddly enough the only other Dman who is a positive is Niku at +3).
But he’s the easiest player to scratch lol.
That’s why I laugh when you have people talking about “earning” ice time and acting like the NHL is a meritocracy.
What a joke
That’s when you know the coach isn’t trying to win by all costs, he’s trying to win HIS way.Oh well, I guess I'll watch for Norlinder. Don't think Wideman should be the one benched though. He's actually been decent.
