Here
You can't tank on purpose, but you can play man-to-man defence as a roundabout way of artificially increasing the difficulty level of defending the opponent.
Also building up the team cardio.

Unsure if sarcastic.
I can’t be the only one wondering how much longer we are going to play that Bantam level D coverage…

Meetings for teams getting ready to play the Habs probably don't last more than 10 minutes. Hard 2 men forecheck and overload the boards. Habs just don't have any answers when other teams do that.

Also, their board play is just putrid. Not just board battles, but even just cleanly grabbing the puck from a simple rim is a hassle or just missed. Forget about clearing the puck off the boards, that's also borderline impossible unless it's an icing.

Sometimes I think the practices might not competitive enough. They always take half a second too long to make a decision or just aren't on the same page at all. Guys get deked left and right, always over chasing the puck carrier. It's like there's not enough skill on the team during practice to challenge each other.

Good first 2 periods. After Roy's goal was called back early in 3rd Montreal kind of deflated. They lost their legs in 3rd period.

Roy is looking good to be a top 6 player for us next year. Newhook-Dach-Roy seems like it could be a good 2nd line.

Just need to build the other 2 lines. Slafkovsky looks likes he starting to tire. He didn't play a full season last year. Not a great game by Caufield or Suzuki for that matter. It happens.

Our best line was the Newhook line with Armia & Roy. 4th line got stuck in our end for long, long shifts. At least twice of 2 minutes or more.

D was ok. Montembeault was pretty solid.

Saturday we play the Leafs (who are losing 4-1 to Bruins). We'll see how different our lineup is by then. TDL is tomorrow at 3 pm.
Suzuki was great early on but he was like a one man show and when his energy faltered his play was affected.
Brind'Amour adjusted to his line matchups and started using Staal more against him he's still a pain to play against.

Normal hé tires and don’t forget he skipped a few training sessions due to an injury , so surely that is affecting him as all

Yeah, because he was shrugging Aho off him like nothing. Suzuki is a small power forward. Once Staal was put on him, he definitely made a difference. Staal has size & reach.

I'm thinking like Brunet I'd like to see Roy get more PP1 time. His touch around the net trumps Newhook AINEC.
